(from iliace) Problems with forum

Guys,

This is Ilia - on my mortal user account. We are experiencing some problems with the forum, where users get a \"Cannot make another post so soon after your last\" message in error, and Recent Unread Topics do not show up correctly. I cannot make posts or reply to PMs on my iliace account, so e-mail me instead if you need to.

We are working to resolve the issue; please be patient.

Just some points that may need to be checked:

Has the system date been fixed? The first day that I found this problem, the system date was about a week in the future.

Does the user table store the date of last search/access? Since the system date was being stored incorrectly, that date may be in the future, thus killing the \"View Posts Since Last Visit\".

Just a couple of areas to check.

Apparently it fixed itself once we reached the date that the server was showing. I don't know the detail, as I have access to relatively few things. Let's hope it stays good, now...

Cobalt - you know full well everyone steals your avatars

Plus, you authorized me to steal that one when we were testing why it wasn't working for you. Don't you remember signing the waiver? :P

I was finally able to post a reply to a thread last night that the system was blocking me out of for over a week. I too think it was the date got screwed up. I noticed that for some reason the date jumped up a week in the future and I was unable to make a reply post on that thread until that \"future\" date had past. Let's hope the problem is resolved. Too many good things come out of these forums. Again, thanks for the work you guys do put into maintaining this system.

The show posts since last visit still isn't working for me. It seems there still is a problem.

For a week or so, however long this all went on...I could sign in, but the dates n times etc were all off. Couldn't post, couldn't reply, yada.
Then it all went away; I didn't do anything. Now all is back to normal.

During the crisis, I went through the various boards and used the \"mark all posts as read\" option. Not sure whether this made a difference - didn't at the time - but my recent unread posts are back to normal. Ed, are you still having issues?
