Custom Guitars

Any of you guys ever get a custom guitar done? My first will be done in about 2 weeks -- (see link) http://www.sevenstring.org/forum/sevenstring-guitars/47216-custom-agile-hornet-7-string.html
I don't think I can ever get this done again because the wait has been killing me! If you have gone through this - how do you cope?

  • I haven't, but their are a few on here that make their own and customize . Check out the members pics! But I hear ya bro. it's hard waiting for anything when the anticipation is running in full throttle. Try waitiing 9 months for the ole lady to quit being pregnant!

Yes- and for great prices - unfortunately I hear he is on hold for custom orders for now because of high volume.

  • How do you cope?? For me I just got the guitar out of my mind completely and got on with my life - thats easy to say I guess  then all the sudden one day you get a call to say its arrived and that makes it a nice surprise - then you start thinking stuff like 'wow, that didn't take long to get here!' or 'I wasn't expecting this for another 3 months!' or whatever!

My Custom ESP took a fair amount of time to arrive - all you can do is be patient of course! The issue I had was if I had chosen the right options for my guitar when I ordered it (timber, pickups, finish etc etc) and hoping it would sound like I imagined it would! I've always preferred to play something before I bought it and considering the money involved, I was a bit anxious how this ESP would turn out. My other issue was getting the guitar here in one piece considering the distance. Thankfully the guitar is superb and I love it to bits. Now my only problem is choosing where to play it where it won't get hurt at all! Its not exactly a 'working' guitar in the sense .... :? But I guess you buy these things because they are special in the first place.

oddly enough,.... .....i have taken my first custom neckthrough handmade guitar order :D imagine an Ibanez universe fully bound headstock-body-neck ,Hum-single,kahler trem,Ebony 25.5 board with sharksfin inlays, and a 4 horsemen of the apocolypse graphic on it 8)

its about time i got off my buttocks and did more than refurbs and customs

a true hand made instrument is worth the wait.I have owned around 6 and they always the best of the best
  • I may be slightly biased, but I feel there is nothing like the feel and playability of a well crafted custom instrument. they just have that \"something\" that you cant get from a factory made off- the- rack guitar. I love all my customs( I have four)and wouldn't trade any of them for the finest gibson or fender. Congrats on your purchase Haff, and as they say, good things come to those who wait. :D
