We're Alone

Ive reg'd over at the DT community (thx for the tip) so I took the opportunity to upload my latest original. I'm trying to get better at mixing things down but I still prefer my sound a little dry for some tastes.

I thought it sounded terrific. Good mix, nice spread of sounds across the stereo spectrum, quality tone, and a dam good song to boot. And also a great example of how good a song can sound mixed \"clean\", without a lot of effects or whatnot. Well done!!!

Thanks. I am trying to spend more time writing lyrics and I think it's paying off. I used to write such lame stuff...lol At least this has a little bit of a story.

I had met this beautiful girl while I was on the road, I was playing in a band and she was a \"featrue\" dancer at the same club. She spoke almost no english. We met and in that short week, we fell hopelessly in love.

The sad part was, I had to leave for my next show and so did she. The morning I had to leave, I woke to feel her sweet kiss, then she slipped away..I never saw her again and I still think of her.

Its actually very sad.

Actually, though sad for you, it's a great story, and surely fodder for great lyrics.
The lyrics I write are so pitiful I'm ashamed to share them, let alone put in a song; and I have songs finished with no lyrics. Perhaps if I could get a woman to accept a second date offer :oops: I'd have some stories like this...

Wow. What a great song. The harmonies are a nice touch. Actually I think your mix sounds good. I got the song priped through my M-Audio speakers and the spread is perfect.

hey thanks. I hope to get better with every recording. I haven't had the equipment very long so it's a big learning curve and I am completely alone in these sessions so it takes me a little longer to do everything. I even tried to play the bass a little tighter in this one. I bought a really nice Fender Precision and I think it's paying off. May take some time to get my chops back but I used to play bass now and then.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. This song is kind of special to me.
