I have money for you....

...sort of.
I had the same painful difficulties with Musicians' Friend that we all did last summer.
As a way to \"apologize\" and woo me back to spending my G/A/S bux there, they sent me a letter with a one-time offer of 20% any order up to $5000. I can do it any time through the end of Feb.
I've got a few things I wanna pick up, but having gone thru serious G/A/S in the last year or so, I've got a lot of the stuff I need. Plus, I'm saving my money for funeral arrangements, for when my bosses' wife dismembers me and sinks me in the river.

So...if any of youse guyz are in the market for a toy and wanna get in on this, PM me and give me a phone #, and we'll talk about it.

  • That sounds like a pretty good deal if you can get 20% off items that never go on sale. I think I would be having GAS pains.

Speaking of Musician's Friend, recently I ordered a couple of Chauvet CH-155 color banks for stage lighting from them. When they arrived, both were broken. Not from shipping, however. They sent me out broken stuff from the wharehouse! Both packages had been previously opened and both packages where missing parts and foam packing material. One unit had obviously been used, and abused, before I even got it. It was all dented and had paint chipped off it from mounting hardware. I called to polietly complain to MF about that order. I told them I wanted to make a complaint to someone who would actually take my issue into consideration because I order most of my supplies from MF and I want them to keep their service up. After waiting for about 10 minutes, I got to talk to a 'manager' and just explained that MF had obviously sent me junk because the wharehouse was currently out-of-stock of new units and could not ship out replacements. To make a long story short, he thanked me and gave me an additional $20 credit on my next purchase. Which, of course, I accepted.

MF has been great to deal with over the years because I have never been hasseled about returning damaged goods. However, this was the first time I had ever seen MF delibertly send out junk to fullfill an order and 'buy' time. I did not like that. Hope that is not happening to others. Best wishes.
  • I agree w/ 'taus...MF is a really good resource - I've gotten tons of stuff there - but i think that over the years they've become subject to the same problem as every other music gear company: the necessity to generate profit. This single factor will affect everyone from CEO's to shipping guys, and 'taus's story is a perfect example of that. NO company would do something like that unless they thought they could get away with it or the customer won't care, 'cuz it'd reflect very badly on them. But thankfully, MF's return policy is decent and they'll usually work with you to make you happy. I was once offered one of those $20 credits too, although it hardly made up for the hassle I had. But this 20% offer they sent me is good, so I'm gonna take 'em up on it.
  • I thought you had some issues with your boss' wife a few months back. She obviously does not like you. Did you perhaps reject a romantic advance... JK.

Although that is a pretty good deal, I have had better luck finding merchandise on E-Bay and comparing it to MF or GC. If it is lower, I have been very fortunate that GC has met price if I found it cheaper elsewhere. That is probably because I have spent lots and lots of my hard earned (not really) money.
