Inferno, My first recording.

This was my first take, tried to simulate the bass but it turned out bad. I'll post some more once I figure this mixing stuff out. :) Let me know how cheesy this is. :wink:http://www.digitech.com/soundcomm/guitar_view_music.asp?productid=199&music_id=3339

  • Not bad for a first take, first try! You'll find that as you get familiar with the unit, your recording and mixing gets better too.
Tell us about what you played on, recorded on, etc.

The only thing I'd \"criticize\" about this tune was the massive and injudicious overuse of effects. You haveta be careful when putting heavy effects on anything, 'cuz not only can it muddle the sound your putting it on (git'r, vocal, whatever), it can also muddy up your mix, as it did in this song where EVERYthing had too much effects on it. Listen to it as if someone else were playing it, and think about what YOU'D want it to sound like...I get into trouble trying to play what I hear in my head, so don't be afraid to change it up.
  • Thanks for the feedback. I'm using the GNX4 with the Pro Tracks Plus software(which I know nothing about) I'll work on not going overboard on the effects. :)
  • Deffinetly not a bad first effort!! A whole lot better than my first efforts  I mean hey that's how ya learn keep on learnin growin & posting. I did not think the Bass was all that bad? the only thing that sounded a little weird to me was some of the Phrases either played with the Bass simulation I thought sounded Bad other than that it was cool!! I like the main guitar part very catchy sounds firmiliar to me somehow?? Anyhow great job Dude 8)
  • WTF Dude, is this a great forum or what? and what a neat tool our gnx is, so much fun. But to post a cool song and get feedback from these guys and to hear some of the post, from novice to simi pro is the best. Keep playing, keep improveing, keep recording, keep posting.
    Peace babys
