Sometimes you can get cabs at M/F on clearance for pretty cheap prices. I have read more than one reviewer who bought the cheapest cab, blew the speakers, and replaced them with higher quality speakers. That's one strategy if you already have replacement speakers ready to go.
Wish I'd heard about all this sooner. I ended up picking up a 4x10 cab which, when it arrived, was much less sturdy than it appeared. Very basic. It'll have to do, for now, I guess...
