GREAT bass, GREAT deal (even if it is M/F)
Here's a killer deal on a killer bass. I just got one of these retail, and it's an awesome rig. If you're interested in getting into bass playing and want a way-better-than-starter-grade ax, check it out:

I was curious about those Silver Creek acoustics they have on sale too.
I mean solid wood for under $500 bucks! Gotta be a let down once you try to play one.
I'm going to stick with one I can play first. With acoustics...you really gotta hear them, and try out those necks.
Anyway...congratulations Bro. She looks great...and seems strong. Really a nice looker. 8)
Slap her around...and make her bark.
but yeah, it's a tasty bass. BIG step up from my starter-Ibanez...(GSR200)
By the way, a couple of years ago I bought a Yamaha 5 string bass with active electronics. The thing is made out of some kind of composite material and is as light as a feather. It practically plays by itself. My only problem is that it is way more bass guitar than my current skill level and I feel unworthy to even take it out to play. At full M/F retail, it was selling for about $1000. I got it on clearance - end of year model - for less than $400. I watched the price of that bass like a hawk when it started going down and got one of the last ones on final clearance. Probably the best deal I ever got.
Currently I still hack away on my old 4 string Kramer which I bought used for $50. I am comfortable with that bass as it is at about my level. I mean, if I showed up with a Gibson Zack Wylde custom guitar for $3000, people would be expecting me to play the thing at a level above my current skills. I am not Zack. Nor am I Flea on the bass so I feel too self conscious about taking out the good bass.... If that makes any sense to anyone out there.
Yep, it's discontinued. Ya snooze, ya lose, I guess. But I'm sure happy with mine...and it was an \"A\" stock, retail one I just got a great deal on. So I'm \"sittin' in butter\".
Enjoy the good times! I gather \"sittin' in butter\" is a good thing? Whenever I buy a new guitar, my wife is not so happy and I am usually \"sitting in hot water\" for awhile. If I was \"sittin' in butter\" it would be because my wife was frying my A$$, if you can imagine that! Take care.
Yeah, \"sittin' in butter\" is a good thing, like \"the bee's knees\". Just a sort of disturbing visual that proably wasn't considered when the phrase was coined...
Thankfully, I don't have to answer to anyone about my G/A/S (except my future self, who'll be p/o'd that he's eating cat food 'cuz I spent so much money on gear instead of saving for retirement... )
