  • Cool 1st try. Not really in the Yngwie style, but cool all the same. I would turn down the reverb a little.
  • I don't know any Ywingie, so you coulda been playin' Hootie and i wouldn't know the difference. but you play a lot better'n I do...
  • It sounds like you have good technique. What's your background?

I've always said that if you add enough chorus and delay to mediocre playing (i.e. mine), you can make it sound awesome. Now, I'm not sure about your chorus usage - it's definitely an appropriate amp tone, if nien - but the delay definitely thickens the sound and makes it more coherent, beyond what you were able to muster with just the guitar by itself. I suggest for anyone using a GNX and good enough to play/improvise some basic leads to try this out - time your delay to a rhythm track or a downloaded backing track, tap it out to match a particular beat. Solo with different variations of this, do a double-time, half-time, and triplet time delay with similar lead patterns (rhythmically speaking in particular).

So what is this recording? I know my Yngwie pretty well, but I don't recognize your track. Is this improv? Where did you come up with the backing track? How did you record this?
  • Thanks For The Comments...

iliace:My background is primarily blues/rock.I found the backing track on the web..It's actually for a lesson on Yngwies style of playing.I don't believe it's actually a Yngwie song tho.I did have very lil chorus on the track. All my playing is just improv..I didn't have any delay I tripled the guitar track and slid each one slighty ahead of the other to create the delay..Then I had another copy of the guitar track that I ran reverb on removed the dry signal from it completely and only used the wet signal...I recorded the track in Adobe Audition 2 used an amp sim out of the Base Pack with it's default settings didn't change a thing.Played a Fender Strat.
  • Hey Steven I agree with Shredd you smoke me bro  Deffinetly good technique you play very well!! I like it 8) As Ed said very cool first try at something Style etc.. you have not done before 8) Keep at it man :D
  • Man, there are so many great guitar players on this forum! Here's another one! 8)
  • Definately more listenable than the man in question 8)
  • Thanks for the comments ppl....I Appreciate it.
  • This was pretty dynamic and the reverb needs to go downnnnnnnnnn. Try adding some delay 1/2% and a little tweak on some chours, then hit it with some compression to brauden the sound out a bit. Great effort and nice guitar work.
