GNX4 Vista Compatible Software
Hi All,
Obviously, I am new to this forum, so forgive me if this question has been answered elsewhere.
I just purchased a GNX4 work station and have found, through Digitech's tech support folks that the current software is not Vista compatible. The answer I got regarding when Vista compatible software would be available was vague (\"engineers are working on it\" was the answer). Can anyone in this forum make the answer a bit more substantial? Fortunately, I just purchased a new laptop with one of the main purposes being to run the GNX4 software. Unfortunately, thanks to MS's \"innovative\" thought processes and our wonderful government's (don't beat me up...I had 26 years in the Navy and 11 more as a civil servant) endorsement and promise to convert all its computers to Vista, there is virtually nothing available (computer-wise) that is not running Vista. Sure would like to know something more difinitive about when the software is going to be available....as in, for example, next month, the next six months or next year. The work station, in and of itself is cool, however it would be a lot more cool if the software worked with Vista.

As iliace said, we're hoping DigiTech will come through on their commitment to get something out for us \"this summer\".
In the meantime you may enjoy the following thread from this forum... http://www.guitarworkstation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5068
The GNX4 IS a powerful tool, and it will be great when we can use it with Vista.

Thanks to all of you who replied. In reading the thread you referenced, it would appear that there are and probably will be some major issues with Vista and the X-edit software, which is a bit disconcerting after making such a major purchase. Guess the best thing to say is that I should have checked more closely before making the purchase (caveat emptor most certainly applies here). The GNX-4 still appears to be a fantastic piece of gear. I just hope that Vista does not turn out to be another MS Windows 2000 ME.
Since the GNX4 is installed as an actual sound card, this means Digitech is presented with the same issues that have plagued every other sound card maker under Vista...
The removal of DX Audio from Vista.
Microsoft pulled the entire Audio platform out from under everyone with Vista, and a new way of doing things has to be developed.
Those with Creative cards know what I'm talking about. I'm sure the same issues apply to the GNX4.
