    Thank you for the kind words, all. Thatsastrat, the G-string is tuned up a half-step to G#. I guess you could say then that the highest three strings are an open E. There are a couple tricky little places in the tune where the slide starts (as normal) straight up-and-down along a fret (playing D, G, B strings) and then slides up AND angles as it slides up to span three frets to get to the next chord. The first time in the tune that it happens went pretty smoothly, but the second time I took a little too long getting to that next chord and it sounds a little cheesy for a moment there before the angling slide gets all the way up (a bit late) to proper pitch for the triad of the next chord.
