How good is your musical ear?

This is a cool little test! Not as easy as it may sound, especially for experienced musicians.

I got 86.1% on first try. My drummer (who also plays pitched percussion and had a good bit of music school), got a 75% first try, and 90% on the second try once he actually figured out what to do. My roommate, who played trombone in high school band years ago and no music ever since, got 91% on the first try. Another friend of mine, got 70% - she played saxaphone in high school but never since.

  • I got 83.3 no musical training or school for me. It took me a few to get it so i suppose I got lucky on the 1st phrase and unlucky on the 2nd tones I missed that 1. From that point on I think I was dialed in for crappy computer speakers  I think I could do much better with headphones & complete concentration as there was background noise talking etc.. here when I took it.
  • I thought my ears were just there to keep my headphones from sliding off.
Actually, I wasn't able to get the test page to load up, so I don't have a rating. Is there a version of the test for the brain-dead?
  • Ahhh its a friday afternoon..... i did badly because i began daydreaming - no concentration..... 8)
  • \"I thought my ears were just there to keep my headphones from sliding off.

OH SHRED!....you KNOW they are also usefull as 'handles\"...

    (81% for me)
  • This thing is a cruel joke I guess?????????

I swear it changed a bunch of my answers before calculating. When it showed my answers at the end, they were about 50% one answer and 50% the other. I KNOW I didn't answer that way during the test. The vast majority were one and not the other.

At any rate, it says I got 66.7% - maybe I should have put a coin in the slot before starting
  • Well that was fun. I tried three times and came up with 3 different scores. Highest in the mid 70's. That doen't surprise me because my daughter accuses me of being stuck n the 70's. :)

    Thanks

    peace
  • First time I tried I got 75%, then I tried again the next day with ear phones and I got 80.6% 8)

I find it to be a bit long and boring though, I have to fight to keep awake
