Mangling The Classics #9
This one was a grunt - I recorded the vocals sick as a dog, couldn't get my Roland to sound like a piano, and couldn't get Shania Twain to come over and rub my shoulders between takes. But it's better than picking lint out of my belly button.
Anyway, it was recorded all on my GNX4 except for \"vocals\". My standard layout: Jackson Performer SSH, Ibanez bass, GNX4, Roland Juno-60, and cheezy GNX drums.

But I don't polish them too much...besides, I don't play ANYthing well enough to really cover accurately, so mostly they're my \"interpretations\". And my singing voice (even when I'm not sick) isn't in a great register for most popular songs. I actually played this one in the original key and one step down, to see which'd come out better, and had to record it in the lower key.
I tend to spend more time on my own projects and stuff I've written, so it'll sound like what I hear in my head. That's the fun. Except for when Shania Twain rubs my shoulders between takes.
