TDM on Steroids

This was going through my head for a few weeks now so I recorded it. There are a lot of those sweet little double stops in it, and a nice groove develops right before going back into the song.

My singing {Groanings} are kind of an intermission before the good parts. But isn't that the way most pickers that don't sing feel about the music? I always told my Ex girlfriend that the vocals were just a way to kill time and make the listener anticipate the instrumental parts. She didn't like that much. But it is especially true with my vocals.

Lots od dual leads done by squeezing two fingers together and picking two strings at once for the rides. This is a \"Live\" unedited version. I played and \"sang\" at the same time with the \"drummer\". Afterwords the bass was also a once through to give the reality of what a 3 piece band would sound like on stage. Complete with mistakes and bad mixing. I did remix it later, but didn't post that version.

Maybe some of you will like it? I hope... Reguardless you haven't heard it picked this way before. Vocals in 2/4, rhythm full bore.

And Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah............ TDM on Streoids

  • Yea Slacker its always great to hear a tune from you. I love that chicken pickin & super tight rythms you have. I used to do \"truck drivin man\" back in the day too dig that tune! and yer fiddlin too:!:
  • Thanks 0Dannyboy,

I can tell you listen. But that's what makes a musician. Music isn't about playing, it's all about listening. Unfortunatley, I know a lot of musicians that don't listen. They only hear what they are doing.

I had a lot of fun with that song. When peeps ask what type of music I play, I tell them \"country Fusion\" I always try to have multiple rhythm patterns going on whenever possible.
And I always make sure that although it fits, the instrumental doesn't have a thing to do with the song at hand. :) It keeps the singers on their toes. It's so fun to see the singer scramble back the the mike only to be unable to find where to jump in. :D That must be a mean streak.

That was fun because it deviated so very far from the song during the intrumental breaks.

Feel free to do my version anytime. It's fun.

I sure do appreciate all the guys who have made comments on my posts. I guess I seldom respond because I don't want to be like the ones that say anything just for a bump to keep it on top. But I do appreciate it.
  • Yeeah! One of my biggest regrets is that that when I first started on the git fiddle I didn't try singing at the same time; now it's a total impossibility!
This tune has great atmosphere! Love that \"spit in the skillet\" fingering! Good job!
