Isaiah 53

I was messing around yesterday, Easter Sunday, and recorded this song we used to sing in our church home group. I haven't heard this song in nearly 20 years so I'm not sure I'm remembering it exactly right but I think it's close.

I just used a midi drum track, soft rock, 118bpm through the Cakewalk-TTS synth (general midi patch).
I then played acoustic throught he stock acoustic patch on the GNX3000. I added some electric with the TwinChrs patch and then base.

I then added vocals (I only did one take and I know I'm sharp on at least 2 notes).

I wrapped it up with a shaker track which was fun to play.

    Man GB that was sweet for messing aroung eh :lol: Very cool tune!! I have never heard that before? Was that Original to your Groupe Worship Team? I play Electric/Lead on our worship Team. i would love for us to possibly do this song at our Church during Worship in Song time 8) There just seems like there should be a lead at the end there. I know I would sure want to put something there :wink: I think your Vocals were great man!! Have you done a fair amount of singing? Sounds like you got a real nice voice :D Have you ever heard of Paul Wilber? I think it had that kind of vibe going on in it 8)

    I actually have no idea who wrote that song. It could very well be original to our group. I was attending Valley Brook Community Church in Silver Spring, MD at the time which is part of Great Commission Association of Churches. A lot of songs came out of that movement so it's certainly possible.

    The song is really simple, just Em, D for the most part. The chorus is C, G, D, Em, going to F, D before coming back into the tag before the verse.

    You're right about needing a lead at the end. I intentionally put a few measures the end and I'm gonna have my son put some harmonica or E. Guitar lead parts there. I might extend that section too because it seems too short now that I listen to it.

    I've never heard of Paul Wilber. Can I find any of his stuff online?

    Yeah Greg you can find info about him & his ministries online. I don't know much about Paul Wilber just heard a few of his tunes & this kind of had that Vibe. Yeah I have played thru with the song several times & figured out that it was in E minor & was playing around with that End Lead. I think I will put the Lyrics down with changes above the correct word demo it so everyone can get an Idea of how it goes & introduce this to the Worship Team 8) Always liked that passage of scripture & have heard songs based on it just not this cool little tune.
