Long lost player getting back into it!

Here's my very first playing for abt 25 yrs on the electric. After I got the GNX
I just had to create something. Just a simple little stupid jam with canned drums and bass part..No practice just did it as it came out..<g>

  • Nice Bluesy Jam there Blueraven 8) I'm glad your getting back into the guitar :D The GNX is awsome it is going to be so helpfull for keeping you inspired & growing musically!! I know it sure has for me!! I have a long way to go I've been playing seriously for about 4 years now & without my GNX4 I would only be a fraction of were I'm at now. Enjoy keep creating & posting
  • Partch,

    Thanks for your encouragement. Nice..

Now that I'm retired , I can explore those long lost muses and maybe even get my creative side up front.

You know what amazes me is that we all have to make a living and WORK. Nothing wrong with that, I mean its noble..

Just think of the creativity if that was not the case..

Send your links to your stuff. I'd like to listen..

  • Hey nothin wrong with that m8. It shows some good phrasing and it's clear you are able to follow the changes regardless of whether you go out of key. I can still hear where you were going. After not having played for 25 years and to come up with that, it shows you clearly have talent and must have been very good when you put it down.
  • sometimes the best blues comes from just jamming along and seeing what comes out
The progressions are there and things will really come together after you can relax and let them flow rather than thinking about them.
Remember that sometimes the simplest phrasing played from the heart can sound amazing.
    good jam 8)
  • Glad to hear you getting back into guitar. As mentioned earlier play from the heart and feel the blues and you will become an awesome Jam.

You have some nice licks in here, with time you will sound great.

    mark
  • Thanks guys for the support. A few friends did say they we're surprised I could do that. Good feeling for sure.

Is the Satrini patch the SATCH preset that came stock with the GNX4 or is it a download?

    Happy Notes.

It's a stock preset. I don't know how precise it is - there's real Satch-heads here that could say - but I like the sound, I haven't changed mine at all...
BTW: does your daughter have any hott friends she could hook me up with??? (In case you haven't been following my saga, I'm trying to recover from Elizabeth Hurley marrying some zillionaire gwat from India. )
  • shredd,

    Ok I'll experiment some. Thanks.

  • That was cool man.

    Nice feel to it 8)
  • Thanks for the kind comments Slash. I liked the feel also.

    Hopefully more to come.

After I started getting back into playing I finally found those sites where all those players are posting videos and such..Man there are a ton of players out there and some real good ones to.

My real forte is the acoustic tho..'72 Martin D-28..

Do you have some of your stuff posted?

  • Blu, nice job. The GNX is a blast and does make playing and composeing more fun than ever. Guitars and go carts for all.
  • Thanks DenSco,

    Gotta start back practicing.

Hey...younger women, more guitars and faster frizzbe tosses! :)

    Ok go carts too!!
  • You had to find a way to rub in our face you own a D-28. I don't like you anymore... lol ;):p
I strummed my first chords on a vintage D-28 that belonged to my Grandpa. My aunt got the guitar when he passed and she never touches it!!! She fought tooth and nail for it too. I'm gonna stop talking about that before I go steal it heheh
  • Jim,

Yeah I was lucky to get into folk and finger pickin in the early 70's and got it new in ATL in '72 for $700.

Man, I'd be real nice to her if I were you. Maybe give her some bucks to let you borrow it.

If you cld get that luthier to set the action low you'd really like it.

Hey..give me her no and I'll see what she wants for it ha :D

  • lol After I win this King of the Blues comp maybe I can convince her I'm worthy of it  Maybe even rack up enough dough to buy it outright. I don't even know how much it's worth, but I would guess around 20. If I recall correctly it's about a 46 or so.
And believe me I've been nice to her haha
I didn't even call her any names over it. At least within ear shot ;)
But I got the old aluminum boat Grandpa used to take me fishin in every day in those beautiful Minnesota summers, so I still have a great piece of him to keep me company. And truthfully, I wouldn't trade the boat for the guitar anyway so it probably all worked out for the best.
