This guys vocals were so good they were just plain ...UNREACHABLE for average guys like me. His singing was truley inspirational and raised the bar for rock vocalist period. It was never the same after I heard \"more than a feelin\" That one part where he sings \" I see my Mary ann walkin away....and then he sustains the end note into the guitar solo... OMG! Truley one of the great rock vocalist wh0 never suffered from lead singers disease..very low key guy....that is until he opened his mouth and your jaw just hit the floor. Not until Steve Perry came out did I ever feel another newer singer had the same unlimited range.
hes one of a few in a very select club...maybe Steve Perry, Rick Emmett , Geddy lee , lou Grahm, bruce dickenson, Nazareth, Steven Tyler you know if you hearem the very talented few who have \"THE RANGE\" like he did. as far as Melody goes there are not many who sang as sweet.

My favorite Boston song is \"Hitch a Ride\" as I really like that power soaked lead of Tom Scholz.
They gave us lots of great songs, and I'm hearing most of them again now, which brings back some nice old memories.
More Than a Feeling <<<<<check it out
But this guy was in a class by himself...I remember being a young 'un and when they came out w/debut, it was SUCH a blow away. I STILL listen to them regularly and it's so good it borders on timeless...don't forget that debut is THIRTY years old!!!
For the rest of you - a peice of RocknRoll trivia: sadly, I don't recall who said it - some famous musician/producer type (Eno??), about 1990 or so: he said of Boston: \"Since the Beatles, Boston's is the only truly original sound that's come along before them or since\".
RIP Brad, we'll always dig ya.

me too - hitch a ride has always been one of my favourite guitars solos, simply awesome. and of course we must mention foreplay/longtime.
Saw them in 1975 or 76, whenever More than a feeling was a big hit. So sad.
