How to record a Fendeer Twin

What would be the best way to record the Fender Twin. I don't have what I need to mic the amp. Can I go pre-amp out to soundcard? Would it fry my soundcard or will it work? Here's the amp http://fender.com/products/search.php?partno=0215700000

    LOL, I really wish I could help. If I knew, I wouldn't have needed the GNX4 in the first place! :D Mic'ing wasn't an option for home recording for me either, so I tried the preamp out and even the external speaker jack, but it all sounded like poo, even through a mixer.

    Use the preamp out. Check soundcard specs to be sure it would be ok; you won't fry it, but if the signal is too hot you might get crackling.

    yes you can. you can come out the pre-out to the sound card.
    line level is line level.
    watch your input levels, trust me...digital distortion doesn't sound good.
    (and it's really BAD for tweeters)
    but you are losing alot of the sound of the amp.
    try it and see if you like the new sound.
    if not, borrow a shure-58 and get a balum (adapter)and plug it in.
    aim the mic about 45 degrees across the cone of 1 speaker and try that.
    if to much treble, aim mic slightly closer to a 90 degree angle till you find the sweet spot your looking for.
