Pearl Jam Cover

Used the acoustic sim on my Boss ME50 for the acoustics and added a little rotary fx.

The rest was the GNX3k.

Not a exact recreation of the original and there are some mistakes.

The outro solo was alot of fun to record though.

Vocals were already on the backing track

Hope you like

  • Awesome cover mate. I love how close you are on tone. & I am very impressed with the Acoustic tone from the ME50. The backer is superb and you mixed your layers in superbly.

Interesting Tom Morello sound effect in there I notice that you use.

Anyways, 2 Thumbs up ...I loved that final solo....
  • I always liked this tune. Good post.
  • Hey Slash been a long time since I've heard this  Good job bro!! What all did the backing have? Drums, Bass, Vocals? I liked the guitars & like mac said the effects & stuff & I one up him the end solo kicked my friend!! great playing!! Hey did you get the Valve JR yet? Man you have to let me know how that thing is? I'm on the verge of Add To Cart :D
  • Hey guys thanks alot.

I actually wasn't goin for there tone, this is the preset I use for most of my recordings. I don't really agree with copying tones :)

The Tom Morello part you speak of was just something I tried cause I couldn't be bothered to learn the riff thats on the original (Lazy)

Its just an easy fun song to play

    Thanks for the compliments.

    Hey Partch,

Yea the backing just had the drums bass and vox. I recorded the acoustic parts twice and added rotary fx to the second track.

No VJ yet probably won't see it arrive here for a couple of months

The shop said 3 weeks but I doubt it

Thanks for the kind words m8
  • these guys were awsome when I saw them a few years back...10 is still my favorite cd of theres Eddie and the boys kicked on this album ...nice work and great pick of a cover
  • Rippin solo buddy!! She's a good ol song that, great to jam to and you've done a fine job of it.

Do you ever have problems recording with the wah?? On PTP I quite often come up with an error when using the wah which shuts down the whole program - it peevs me off no end!!  Each time I use the expression pedal a window with an error comes up - up to 20 sometimes. I have to go back into the program and re-record the whole track....
Doesn't happen all the time however - just often enough.

    BBoo.
  • Thanks ODB and BBoo glad you dug it,

I record with a lead goin from my 1/4 jack socket on the 3K straight into my mic socket on my pc.

Don't kno if you get a better tone using the usb method, but I find that I don't get any problems whatsoever with my method :) .

I imagine that would pee you of, record a killer solo and the program crashes, not good

And you're correct its a great tune to improv over :)
  • Who is singing on that? That sounds eerily like the original.
