The Mad Pharoah

Hi all,

Well I don't freakin believe it - the upload actually worked!! This has taken me a couple of months to get uploaded and its got me stuffed why its decided to work now but anyhow...

This is just a song I was mucking around with a while back. My girlfriend loves house music and wanted me to record something 'housey' - I hate the crap personally but we all know what a womans scorn can be like! So I thought I would chuck in something different on a few tracks. For your enjoyment (amusement) it comes complete with amp hum, mistakes, timing issues etc etc

Enjoy!

  • Hey there BBoo sounds realy cool to me 8) I enjoyed this one. I'm glad you were able to get it uploaded :D I see you have the Bit rate clean down to 64. I can not go above 128 or my Music will not upload :( Anyhow again it provided me some listening pleasure sounded like you had fun doing it!! You used some whammy in there right? What did you have that set at? I never used that before would like to learn more about that effect. Anyhow the part I'm talking about sounds like there is harmony over it & I think that was that effect right?
  • Hey Man that rocked! Nice tone and excellent execution bro.
You definatley got skills 8) Nice whammy work not overdone very tastey.
nice harmonie parts, it changes around enough that it sounds like a complete tune not just a jam over some chords it stays fresh throughout the tune :!: IMHO you RAWK

OK now on the downside I did think it needed more Cowbell.
  • Thanks for the great response ODB and Partch, glad you enjoyed it and I appreciate your comments. :D
In regard to the bit rate, I'm not sure if it was the 64 or the internet pixies that allowed this song to be uploaded. I've certainly uploaded stuff with a higher bit rate before - so I'll just blame it on those bloody pixies for my recent uploading woes!!
Partch, I didn't use the whammy setting on the GNX3k, I just used the Floyd on my ESP Horizon. I don't think I am coordinated enough with my feet to use a whammy pedal!! :? I used the IPS for harmonies though I can't remember what setting or mode I used as I did it a while ago. I think the part you are talking about Partch I am just doing big bends and sliding up and down the neck - definitely no whammy pedal - I can't use one!

ODB, its great to finally meet another big fan of the cowbell!! I mean, thats the only reason Rolling Stones Honky Tonk Woman is played right??
I will definitely look at adding more cowbell in future now that I know a cowbell FAN is out their begging for it!!

  • Hey Boo,
Soooo thats House, i like that beat, i remember Slimpley Red had a song with that kind of beat in it and liked it also. When you come in with the guitar i'm thinking jimmy is back. nice sound, quick fingers.
  • Thats some top stuff man.

    Great Playin 8) 8)
  • Hey BBoo-Thanks for the Reply!! Yes that's what I meant my bad  Yes IPS the Harmonies you used like a third up or 5th maybe Dorian or something? That was deffinetly the effect I was refering to. Don't know why I said Whammy :? Anyhow great post
  • Very ver cool...this sounds like something off of Satch's \"Engines of Creation\" album

way cool...nice Wah tone and the tappping licks were nicely executed...
