Wayfaring Stranger

Here's a a cover of a great old spiritual song I love. I open mic'ed the acoustic so it's a little hissy(kinda gives it that old lo-fi feel) It's a little different hope you guys like it. Give me some feedback, I'd love to hear from ya :Dhttp://www.digitech.com/soundcomm/guitar_view_music.asp?productid=199&music_id=2895

  • Hey guys thanks for the feedback. ODB haven't seen that movie I'll have to check it out. Sometimes it's nice to pull these old songs out, sorta change gears a little. can't say enough about the versatility of the GNX! What a capable tool 8)
  • dugraha,
Great post man 8) That sounded very cool!! Great vocals as always you have a great voice!! I like the sound of that miced Acoustic!! What is that your micing? I have been playing & recording the Ovation In the mic Input of my GNX4 now. I like that a Tad better than going thru a direct patch. Anyhow excellent Job
  • Hey Partch, glad you liked it! The acoustic is actually a Fender DG-3 mic'ed up with a Shure sm-57. It's a very cheap guitar, It's strung w/ Elixir nanoweb strings which make a cheap guitar sound much much better, I highly recommend them! Also I'm looking for another option as far as micing the acoustic, can anyone suggest another type of mic. either condenser or dynamic for small room recording?
  • I have not heard this song in a long time. They used to play it often in an old series called Then Came Bronson whre this guy rode around the country on a Sporster. I thought the tone you used for the lead was spot on for the feel of the song.Good post!
  • Sorry Bud the only experience I have is with this Ovation & is absolutely plug & play it records plugged so well. No micing here  As far as recommending a mic & such maybe start a thread in Recording or General Discusion abot mic suggestions. I'm sure some of the more experienced guys can give you some good suggestions :D
  • That was 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) .

    Wish I could sing
  • Hey once again thank you guys for the positive feedback. I'm always a little skittish a/b my vocals, I'm getting more comfortable behind the mic atleast I'm not burying the vocal track in the mix now
