Jazz Tabs with MP3's or midi files

I want to start playing jazz guitar with the counterpoint bass runs and so on.

I have been looking all around the internet for jazz tabs along with MP3's or even midi files that go with the tabs so I can start learning some jazz. I really don't want to spend any cash right now because I don't know if I will like playing it or not or I might not be able to play it at all or be any good at it.

Does anyone know of any places on the internet where someone that wants to get started in jazz can learn cool stuff without knowing the names of any jazz songs and maybe they have MP3's or midi files with the songs so I can hear what they sound like? I can NOT read 5 line staff music to save my life but can read tablature very well.

Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks in advance!

They've got over 1200 tunes and most with a midi track, so you can preview the tune.
The chord changes are written out as well. (and not on the staff. Just standard changes like G7, CMaj7, etc..)

I am a big fan of the guitar training site called \"Truefire.com\". They deliver training in a number of formats. One of them is called \"interactive audio\" training. These are typical short (e.g. 1 - 8 minutes) training segments that feature a downloadable MP3 example, music notation and tab in PDF format, and a tab on steriods version called \"Powertab\". These individual courses aren't free, but are usually not more than $1 or so per download. They also have some free examples from time to time. When you sign up for the service, they usually give you some \"free\" Truefire dollars you can spend to try things out.

When you're ready to spend some real money (e.g. $50 - 90, the cost of a couple of real guitar lessions), you should take a look at Truefire's CD video courses. I've got several of these courses, and I think they are great.
