For Whom The Bell Tolls Solo

Does anyone know the solo for 'For Whom The Bell Tolls' by Metallica? The one at the end of the song. I've looked everywhere yet i can't find it.

  • Actually it is pretty easy.
All you need is a whammy bar.(preferably a floyd rose)

just hit one of the harmonics at the 12th fret and then dip the whammy bar up and down.

    Hope that helps. 8)

    Wow sorry.

If it helps the gnx3 & 4 can simulate the sound with the whammy patch.
  • There lies your problem.
You need a whammy AND a wah. You can make the exp pedal do both, but it wont sound as good.... When i played the song with my band i just used a wah and did extreme finger vibrato....just go crazy

I have a GNX3K does that have the whammy patch?
  • You can add a whammy to any patch.

You can get close, especially if you've got a Fender style neck, by hitting the harmonic on the 12th fret, then reaching behind the nut and depressing the string you want bent..
