Gypsy Campfire

I've always wanted to write a song that could be played at a campfire, so this is what I came up with. The crackling sound at the beginning and end is supposed to be a campfire, and not audio noise.

This song was a learning experience for me. I wanted to capture a live feel so I recorded without a drum machine or metronome. That's the last time I'll ever do that again.

I contemplated redoing the tracks to get the timing correct, but then my singer wasn't around to redo the vocals.
Anyway, this was sitting on my project pile for over a year and I wanted to wrap it up before the fall since the lyrics seem appropriate for the season.

Cool Song AC 8) you have a way with putting cool tunes together!! The Melody that ran thru that one was cool and fit the title well! Must be nice to have such a great vocalist to lay down vocals to your cool tunes

I like how the tune ended that chord sounded cool!! I think overall it sounded great timming & all, I could not hear what you meant about redoing it because of timming?? Newb ear I guese?

Thanks for checking it out buddy. If you use a metronome against this song, you'll hear that it won't track perfectly. As a result, I had to play the other instruments listening to where the guitar was going and adjusting as such.

The last chord was chosen because I thought this is supposed to be a happy tune in a festive atmosphere, so I closed it with a major chord which seems to stand out against the minor scale. Thanks for noticing. 8)

What a great little ditty!

Quite refreshing to hear something different like that. Good work! I didn't immediately think of LOTR or Hobbits like P.G.Shadow - I connected it more to Rowan Atkinson's 'Black Adder' series 1. C'mon, we all need a Baldrick!!

That's my step-daughter Andrea on vocals. She's going to med school in another state so it's hard to get opportunities to record her, otherwise we'd have more songs out. Too bad she's going to waste her talents to become a surgeon.

Very different but a cool tune. Did you use an accoustic guitar or was this one of the presets on the GNX 3000?

Thanks for taking the time to check it out. 8) I used my Ovation Elite with a direct patch. It's so much easier to record plugged in as opposed to miked up.

Man, This was really nice…your vocalist has such a great voice and the harmony parts were excellent…I love soundscapes and you sure captured that Gaelic campfire setting…acoustic work sounded great…very enjoyable.

Ha ha, thanks for listening to the tune! I'm really glad that you all didn't think this song was too far out there.

As far as the superbabes go, you'll have to come out here and select them on your own. Too many to choose from.
