Far Away Again (Dedicated to MikeC)
Here's a song that I've had on the shelf. It's supposed to have vocals, but since that may be a while, I redid the song as an instrumental and wanted to get it out to dedicate it to MikeC, who passed away last week. He's generously taught many of us to mix and master (along with what he's passed on to Mark007, thanks bud), and he also was always pushing us folks to put out music.
I mixed this through headphones, monitors, and my computer speakers. They all sounded drastically different and the instrument levels were all over the place. I ended up using the headphones as the tie-breaker, but my computer speakers don't seem to agree.

As far as dedicating it to Mike, it was the least that I could do for someone who generously gave his time for the improvement of others. You may not have got to know him, but if your recordings are being influenced by what Mark007 and I comment about on, then you're getting to know him indirectly. 8)

I believe music is not about formulas, it is the emotions and you have that factor in your songs.
Very cool tune, I especially liked the middle eastern type melody.
Very nice 8)
Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for the comments.
This song wasn't intended to be an instrumental, so the original arrangement leaves room for more playing around. As soon as the vocals get recorded, it'll be layered a little deeper.
I appreciate the comments Kirk! 8) Some day I'll get more depth in my tunes like yours.
I tried to make the ambient lead sound like it's circling around your head, kind of ghostly, but I guess I didn't turn on the surround bus and it only moves left and right in regular stereo.
I've commented on this tune on the other board, but let me say once again, what a cool tune this is... 8)
