The 1st Thing I Recorded...
The very first thing I recorded as soon as I plugged in to my GNX4 in January....I just found this going thru some folders and thought I would post it,- mistakes & all....it really amuses me now in retrospect (I had to hatchet job/ insert the drum fill at the end of the break- but it's actually pretty neat) and ofcourse I had no idea how to end it so I just went \"VOOOM\"...LOL

ODB and his boyz can make a song sound great coming out of a paper bag.
Nice job dude. very nice.
I hear you about the mistakes they do stick to us but this tune sounded great to me and i hardly heard any mistakes.
Sometimes if you try to go back and correct /rerecord you can't recreate
the cool things that were happening in the original
OK I'll shut it
I agree. That's why I tend to keep a lot of first takes as they seem to capture the best vibe, mistakes and all. Once I rehearse too much, it sometimes sterilizes the track. :?
Dig the lead... 8)
and i thought i was the only one that felt this way.
And there is the \"alienation\" we seem to collectively feel as creative people.
Recording music is almost like painting in a way....you have a blank canvas, then you \"layer\" parts over it (paint/colors)....if you've ever tried to paint or draw something, you know how hard it is to \"un-do\" your mistakes without completely ruining the base, or losing its initial spark.......man I have had too much Nyquil tonight (I have a bad cold)
