My dad on guitar
This a recording my dad made a few years ago using an RP100 and Kustom amp through 1 of those PC mikes.
He passed away last year.
He was a huge Hank Marvin and Shadows fan, I use to give him hell about that
.
Anyway I think this sounds pretty good.

That was cool!! I liked the Reverb in that had a cool feel to it!! It's great you have this song to remember your Dad!! Did your Dad get you into guitar?? Thanks for posting that Slash!! obviously your Dad could play very well!!
God Bless You!!
Partch
sorry about your dad---You must have some great memories---nice song
Mike B- yea I have a few copys of it already and I have some flamenco stuff he recorded on cassette.
Partch- It was actually me who got my dad back into guitar, when he was young and living in Cyprus he had Flamenco lessons and could play that stuff real good, but he joined the navy and put the guitar down.
A little further down the road.
I discovered Slash and decided I want to play guitar so I got really into it and this motivated him to pick up the guitar again, he started me of with some chords and stuff but we have totally different styles so I'm mostly self taught.
I remember when we bought a USA Fender, the look on his face was priceless.
My biggest regret is not letting him show me that technique flamenco guitarists use when they strum (they kind of flick there fingers through the strings) , I think it's called rasquedo or something it sounds like a rolling kind of effect.
Anyway he really liked this tune but only about 5 people heard it includin me and my mum.
Thanks again
You were lucky to have that in common with your dad. Mine is very into listening to all kinds of music... as long as it's traditional classical! Needless to say, if you've heard any of my posts, I can't get my dad to listen past the first 4 measures. Take care, and keep the music coming!

I have heard your posts and they are of a very high standard.
My dad hated most of the guitarists I listened to except SRV, but he always liked hearing me watching me play.
He hated distortion though
Sorry to hear about your Dad
Your Dad played really well. It must have been cool to have a Dad who played. My friends Dad growing up played. He was this old Greek guy. Did not speak much English. I would jam with him, and we would have such a great time playing. It was a lot of fun.
My Dad was not musical at all. Not the my parents discouraged my playing, but the never encouraged it. I never took lessons , until years later when I had a job and paid for myself. And I only took them for 6 months. I was playing in bars at the age of 15. My parents had never even come and see me play. The only time the saw me play was when I played a song at my wedding.
I think it is great that you have his music and the common bond of playing guitar to remember him.
Thanks for sharing that. It was very good
