A \"Happier\" tune.
Hi Dudes,
The creative juices have been flowing once again, slightly. My missus asked me this morning \"why don't you try and come up with something a little bit 'happier' sounding?\". So I quickly came up with this to silence her:

Again, another idea to be worked on. I seem to come up with lots of ideas and only finish very few, ending up with lots of half done ideas :!: Does this happen to anyone else or is it just me?
Anyway, same drill as before;comments etc much appreciated.

I like it!! You have a good voice!! How do you do you vocals?? Dry? Patch?? What kind of effects etc..??

I use the Craig Anderton Vocal patches, usually record the vocals twice on separate tracks. I used the \"Vintage\" vocal patch for this tune.
You can get the patches here:

On page 5.

Here's my suggestions;
Pan the lead melody off somewhat to one side. The vocals are in the center, so you need to give them space. Also the lead melody is repetitive, it may have more effect if you get the melody in, then take it out and put it in different spots.
The vocals themselves are good, but they are a little muffled. If you have an eq, trim out some bass and boost the treble just a touch. It'll do wonders for clarity.
Great job on the song though. I'm enjoying your tunes. They kind of have a Steely Dan vibe to them. I can't really say why, other than your singing style. 8)
It's great you can use those Anderton vocal patches...I d/l'd them and they do awful things to my voice, which sux already. But hey, if it works, use it, eh?
AC had some good ideas, but I can tell it's an idea in the process...or at least something to quiet the wifey. Keep working it, it's a good one!
Thanks man!! I use that patch as well for most of my stuff I've posted. I still want more I'm in surch for better vocals. I know the problem is I'm just not a nautuaraly gifted singer!! I could probably be trained to be O.K. but none the less I will press on for the glory of God!! Keep up the good work Shando!! You have some great tallent!!
God Bless!!

JMHO, but ditch the patches and record direct. You can use eq to get clarity instead. As for the singing, you've got to sing from the gut and get some volume. That's a confidence thing, but I think you know what I'm talking about. You can definitely sing, but it sounds like you're holding back. I wish I could sing half as well as you guys, but I'm going to just stick with backing vocals.
I dug it.
Yeah..I've got about 6 or 7 always going on in my head as well..
Great job buddy.. 8)
