:D Hey Partch and Slashnburn99 thanks for the reviews. This was such a cool and mellow tune to work on. It had such a happy feeling all the while I was working on it...I had to kick my dog and kids several times each day just to snap out of it !

Ya thats my c-57 Ovation. Its got the shallow bowl desighn. I love that guitar. It always stays in tune and the built in tuner an pre amp work great. I think for the price (around $500) its one of the best deals Ovation has. Those darn little koreans  make some kool stuff these days.

I really loveTals guitar in this one. Tele and Les paul tones. The man jams!

Gregs not happy with the bass tones in this one and wanted to sing some... so I got new bass tracks and a backing vocal today I will remix this one soon.
  • Phantastic collab guys :D . Really beautiful song with nice feels. This song sounds real fresh to me... stuff you'd love to hear on the radio and wish you could \"see\" it live. This worked really well guys, respect .
  • Great job guys! This is a song that should be out there makin' money. 8) I ove the vocal harmonies. Tal's playing compliments it perfectly.
  • man another sweet tune and with tal at the helm
there nothing not to like with this song either -

    one word---- MOIST
  • Good job guys, the only thing missing was the sampled seagulls at the fade out, with just acoustic guitar playin :D
  • Darn it guys, stop with all the incredibly killer tunes, already! I've only got 1Gb on my iPod !!!

  • ODannyboy, Killer groove man. Again with the harmonies - SWEET :!:

Tal, very nice job on the flowing melodic solo's. I always dig hearing you play!
  • Another AWEsome project you guys! ODB, you really sing great....awesome layers. I'm gonna take back some of the things I said about lead singers!!
Tal, you're making the rest of us look bad. You play realllllly nice. Or, as I'd like to think of it, givin' us all something to shoot for!
And the thing that blows me out of the water is that you guys don't
even live in the same state. How the henk do you do that? I can't even record stuff like that in one room!!!
Good tracks all the way around. You guys rool.
  • Cool!
Great sounding tune, and kickass guitarplaying!
    Loved it 8)
  • Danny Boy and Tal, great collaboration, excellent job, Danny Boy, you have the tenor, I cover baritone/bass.......would love to collaborate with you........on vocals.....and I WOULD be totally honored to do harmonizing lead guitar parts with Tal.. You guys did a great job, and if your bass player was the supporting vocalist, he did and outstanding job as well....
  • Yet another good tune from ODB.
Your recording chops are really starting to shine.
Looking forward to more. more, more.
Did I say I want MORE.
  • This is a very nice piece of songwriting. I like the verse/chorus structure. Love Tal's leads. The percussion absolutely makes the piece.
  • Hi ODB,

This is a fantasic song. Your vocals kinda reminded me of those '80s popsters \"Climie Fisher\". Anyway, the missus and I had a search on You Tube and found a Climie Fisher vid, WOW it took us right back to being teenagers in the '80s.

Anyway, great song and feel to it. A big thanks to all involved for sharing the results of some great work with us all. N1 :D

    TY

    shando

PS. As has already been said, more please?
  • I dig that. Sounds like a Texas Boy on Guitars ( Tejas Tal!!)

I checked out your my space as well . Thats some great vocals.

I see you are in Albuquerque. I lived there for awhile about 3 months.. just enough to finally learn how to spell it. Home of the San Dia Mountains (San Dia means Watermelon I think) Thats the name of one of my tunes( ummmmmm....Watermelon?)
  • Let me start off by saying how pleased I was for Danny to think of me when he composed this song. 0DB is just killer to work with and I haven't heard one thing from him that I didn't like. :)

When Danny approached me about doing this tune, and sent me the mp3, (Sans Lead Guitar), I knew the minute I heard it I wanted to be involved. We actually swapped quite a few takes back and forth. I started out recording a lead on the Gibson Blues Hawk. Danny liked the feel of the lead and suggested I keep on in that type of style. 8)

So I surprised him and threw him a curve ball and sent him a similar lead, but done with the synth using the saxophone synth. After both of us listening to it we decided it sounded too much like something from \"Saturday Night Live\".:lol::lol: .

Then I took the original licks on the Blues Hawk and refined them to better fit the tune and high light Danny's vocals. We both agreed that was the way to go. So I sat down and went to work in earnest.. :)

I made five identical leads on five different guitars...
    Blues Hawk.
    Les Paul.
    ES175
    Stratocaster
    Telecaster.

Danny in the end decided to use the Telecaster and Les Paul tracks and mix them together for the guitar tone you hear. Reminds me of the tone I used to get in some of my old bands when I was the staunch LP player and the other guitarist was the staunch Strat or Tele guy.. I think Danny got a really cool guitar tone with the mix. 8) .

Evidently Steve Gilmour over at Soundclick thinks so as well..
He loved the tune and the guitar work and was just knocked out by the overall production of the piece..(Now's when you take several bows Danny  )

Steve Gilmour is SoundClicks top reviewer and when this song was completed, I submitted it to him to get a review from a guy that does about 50 tunes a month..
His review is at this link.
    http://board.soundclick.com/viewtopic.php?t=176219

Highly Recommended (for the song and performance of both artists) is final quote at the bottom of the review..
If you get over to the review you may want to leave a coment there as well, if you wish.. :D

Don't forget me about me 0DB should you have another project that you think you might need a wore out old jazz guitar player on.:lol: .

And Blue Gator and the rest of you guys as well. If you've got a tune put together that you want some old wore out jazzer playing on, let me know. I'll certainly take a listen and see if I can help out, Time permitted. (It tooke me about a month for Jamaken' Moonshine, in between work, and all the other stuff that comes with everyday life..(Yeah..I still got a day gig):lol:

Thanks guys for your kind comments on this piece and thanks again Danny for giving me the opprutunity to particapate.. 8) .

    Tal.. 8)
  • I still think ODB and the gang should quit their day jobs and do albums. Every tune has been stellar.
