\"HEY\" - anger management song!
OK guys, I really need you to go easy on this one. This was just a pissed-off-at-my-boss, bashing chords kind of venting session. Very cathartic, but when I listen to the result I'm not that impressed...crappy solos, solo sections all different gains, drums too far back in the mix, vocals WAY out in front (I just got a condenser mic and I'm still getting used to it), the echo I put on the vocal didn't \"show up\" in my mix, yadayada.
the one thing I do really like is the loop I based it on...good stereo mix, decent sounds.
It ain't a great piece of studio work, but all I wanted to do was get my steam off at my boss's wife. Wench. You know how gorgeous, rich women can be.
So...with all that in mind, let's have your comments!!!

Not to bad!! How did you end up doing the Vocals?? I know you were asking about a patch or something for vocals?? I ask because I need to figure out something that works for me a patch or something?? I know I'm not a great singer & all but I have just not been happy with my vocal attempts!! It may me my mic?? For my purposes at the time when I bought the mic I got the cheapest Shure I could find?? PG48 I wish now I would have got & SM58!! I think that is part of my issues??
God Bless Shredd!!
Partch
P.S.
Don't be afraid of the Vocals I think you are well capable of putting some good Vocals down to some of your cool tunes!!!
I don't know how much I'll play with that song...I just binged it out to vent my wrath at my boss's wife. But I LOVED the loop I used, and I'll probably work that into someting...
I have the '4, and for solo I used two patches I've gradually diddled into useable shape...one is a gilmour patch, another is one i use for Victim Of Love....
PS good luck at your big gig, be sure to catch us up when it happens..
I didn't record the vocals with the GNX, so no patch. they were right into the board. That's why I'm mystified that the echo/etc I added didn't show up on the recording. Gotta figure that out.
As far as mic's/vocals go...I also think my singing is fairly pitiful, so far...but since I'm not trying to make record companies or throngs of adoring groupies happy, I'll just put 'em in and not care if they aren't so great.
SM58 is rumored to be a terrific stage mic, but no so much for recording. I'd recommend a condenser, even the cheapy I got MXL990, only $69 from M/Friend. Sounds great, great price...good luck, keep us updated, and post a song w/your vocals!
You ain't the only one that wants her  ...ALL her \"friends\" are men. She's one of those women who is hott at any age, and keeps gettin' hotter. The only reason I don't want her is 'cuz I work for her and I know what a wench she is. (what's that cliche`: \"for every gorgeous woman, there's a man who's tired of putting up with her $H|+\")...
But if you really want her, I'll trade you phone numbers. Frankly, I've got as good a chance w/Brooke as you do w/her. She's a hard woman.
ANNNyway..I'm glad you liked the tune, 'cuz it's studio work I'm not very proud of, I usually do better. But this is a tune I didn't much care about, it was \"power chord therapy\" for me.
maybe you should let her have a listen b4 you throw her off a cliff
It's got that Clarence Carter feel to it...
I kept waiting for you to start singing...
\"Strokin' to the left, Strokin' to the right\"
Seriously dude..
Very cool. 8) .
And nothing wrong with the vocals at all.. 8)
See Ya,
Tal.. 8)
You are a trip! I liked this song. The guitar parts were good, and the vocals made the song! At least you have the balls to sing!
Great work!
I hear all the hot women go for the singers in the band anyway!
-Bababoey
mrgreen
But I thought Swiss women were all luscious alluring beauties? You mean you have NORMAL women there?!? I thought I'd wander Europe for a while, find a nice man-lovin' woman. I thought the USA had dibs on man-hatin' women... :?
And the vocal was to try out my new condenser mic, which has the effect of making even my gravel-pit voice sound good. Well, better, anyway. I hope to do more singing, as I find/write tunes to suit my somewhat limited voice.
As far as women and singers go...is that true? Doesn't that mean if I can play a guitar AND sing, that hott groupies should be beating my door down?
I hadn't heard such great things about lead singers. The consensus is they can be difficult to work with. Hence the joke (I put it in the 'music humor' thread):
Q: \"How many lead singers does it take to screw in a light bulb?\"
A: \"Only one. He just holds the light bulb, and the world revolves around him.\"
PS if you bump into the woman from Columbia I was seeing, and she's still totally insane... tell her I've got a restraining order on her. :?
  Hey! I resemble that remark
 Actually us singer dudes aint that bad...but we do rake in our fair share of the Booty at Gigs.
Nothin' personal, anyway...just a broad generalization. And a good joke, unless you are one! 8)
So...do hott groupies ever go for the guy that tapes down the cables and sleeps through the gig slumped against the PA cases and drooling down his chin??
Just kidding. I can actually play, even sing a bit...just can't seem to give up this \"job\" thing to make time for a band, get some gigs, and score a hottie. 'Course, if I didn't have a job, I couldn't afford things like a GNX and new strings... :? sigh...so when is Elizabeth Hurley going to beat my door down and take me away from all this???
Anyway...thanks for giving the tune a listen. As I've told the others, I sorta threw this together in a bad mood, so it ain't my best studio work. But...it seems like guitar solos in most of my songs tend to be \"out front\" a bit...I think I must like them that way. Perhaps with experience I'll develop a more discriminating ear, and do better mixes.
Or else I'll lure Bob Clearmountain out of retirement...
This song brought a huge smile to my face. Sure, it's a song about venting, but it's a good-time song about venting. I'd love to hear this at a bar.
