The box for the power supply

hey,

this is just a silly topic but has anyone succesfully got the power supply back in its box?

I still use my Gnxs box to transport it for now until i get a hard case and the power suplly box fits nicely in the side but i cannot not get the thing back in.Ive tried many ways lieing the transformer down on its side, standing up e.t.c but the box always becomes wider and doesn't fit beside the Gnx?

any one had better luck?

  • Get yourself a \"gear bag\". I went to the thrift store and bought an old Knapsack (rucksack, for you Brits??) for about US$3...it has lots of pockets and such for cables, etc, and even a padded section for more delicate/expensive things, like your GNX!
You're welcome. Now have Elizabeth Hurley call me, I still love her!!! :)
  • I buit a padded hard case for the gnx4 myself. Solid as a rock and fits everthing perfectly. So solid i can run it over with a car and apart from scratches its all good. The only downside is that i dont have acess to ABS plastic, so I had to make it out of wood. So it weighs a lot, but on the bright side its hilarious to watch people think that its light....
  • Im gonna get a hard case i think, some of them are very exspensive, like £75, my guitar case was £60 so...Theres just so many things i want at the moment though, lol :D

anyway Im selling my Playstation 2 to get some extra cash so that should get me an instructional book or dvd to help me learn theory.
  • The rucksack route is super cheap and will do you fine until you have the dough for a better case.
  • I would prefer a hard case though, preferably one where you can keep it in the box while playing but i don't think they make those.

Rucksack is a good idea if it is a tight fit for the GNX so it can't move about.

Another good idea that's a good cross between cost and protection - the good ol' DT gig bag. It fits the GNX very well and is padded, and you can get 'em on ebay 'cuz no one wants one if they move their GNX around very much. But for occasional use (like I do) it's a good deal.
I went with the rucksack method when I had a DT RP3; it had a padded section for the pedal, and tons of pockets for cords, mics, strings, footswitches, pick box, tuner, etc. And I hpaid about US$3 for it. I got the gig bag with my GNX, so now the pedal goes in there and all the other crap goes in the rucksack.
But if I were a working player and had to take my stuff around all week to practice and gigs, I'd probably go hard case for the GNX and something good to carry all the loose stuff. Guys?
'Course, I'd much rather spend my weekends cuddling up with Kate Hudson to releive her 'greif' over splitting up w/Mr Black Crowes, but she isn't returning my phone calls... :(
  • Hey, i might get my Dad to build me one where it can hold my GNX3 and Crybaby and i can play them in the case 8)

We played our first Gig today it made me realise how much i need a case.
It was awesome, i can't wait to do another gig.Plus this guy has booked us to play at a private party on the 6th December cause he liked us so much and the best thing about it is he is going to pay us :D:D:D:D

Roll on December, Rapid Fire,Maiden and Xmas in the same month :D:D

Btw it was a shame you couldn't come Shredd, the blond girl at the bar was perfect for you.

Building custom is the best way - you can design it exactly as you need it. Down side is that they often end up pretty heavy, and you usually don't save any $ doing it. Make sure you build it with room to put in your cables, etc - it's great to be able to finish playing, unplug everything and throw it in the case, pop the top on and go. And of course, be sure that everything's secured to the base...duh... I once bilt my own for a slew of single effects, and it was the best pedal board ever, but it weighed a ton and I spent quite a bit on materials and such.
And CONGRATS on your gig!!! Sounds like a blast, and getting $ for it just makes it sweeter. :D I don't even have a band, so I \"play by myself\" quite a bit. But...it's nice having my GNX drum for me - it'll play whatever I want, for as long as I like, without the attiude or temper tantrums when I play bad.
And DAM would I have liked to be there...a \"perfect blond girl\" is something I'd love to have, even more than a paying gig!!! Any chance you'd send her over to visit me??
  • Ok ill post her today, royal mail standard parcels.Ill pack her well, postal insurnance or return policy not offered! :D

:D:D Oh Boy. Can't wait!!! :D:D I'll be extra good to her and even write her songs.
I hope they don't lose her in the mail, she'll end up in Arkansas dating some greasy harley-head named Thor. :(

    \"Gutted\" :?:
Don't feel bad. It happens all the time, and besides, you're better off not buying something like a Marshall unseen. You gotta play it, hear it, to know if it's the one for you.
Glad you get a kick out of me n the women thing...but with me, it ALWAYS comes back to women. Mainly 'cuz I don't have one, haven't had one for a while, and have no idea when I will have one. Perhaps if I did, I woulnd't think about it so much. Any of you married guys wanna weigh in on this one??? :P
  • I've played through A JCM 900 before. It s the model that Judas Priest used in the studio on British Steel, Stained Class, Screaming For Vengeance...that Era.They even used it on the recent album, AOR.

U need to play a rippin' solo in front of some girls, then you won't be going home alone.Or just play something whats in the charts. 8)

That should do it...all I need is to find some people that can play (at least as well as I do, not too hard!), make a band, find rehearsal time (dam \"job\" thing!), get some gigs...what's a workin' boy to do??
  • Yeah definately get a band.I hope u succesfully find a Bassist and Vocalist quicker than it is taking us :?

Then you can film your band and put it up on YouTube.I thought u would be in a band already?

    What style do you play?
