I'm new here, looking to buy one of those GNX units, and am generally asking for advice. Plus, another guitar/effects BBS isn't necessarily a bad thing to be part of!
Hi there!
\"Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends\". If you buy yourself a GNX, warn your loved ones that they'll be seeing a lot less of you...it can do so much, is so much fun to play with, makes practicing and playing such a blast...it's hard to walk away from. Everyone here has their faves, But I'd suggest either the GNX4 or the GNX3K, depending mostly on whether you need a built-in digi-corder or not. I personally have the '4 and LOVE it.
If you haven't gotten one yet, I'll offer you mine - loaded with great patches and jammable MP3's; includes manual, all s/ware, the foot controller for the recorder, and a gig bag built for it - in exchange for one of these (as long as she loves RUSH - and tall guys)
Hey, I'm in the same boat. Still in research mode, I posted yesterday (Need help choosing a model) and got some good comparison feedback. Looks like either the GNX4 or GNX3000.
So far, it looks like the GNX4 is primarily a better recording tool, but can also play live. GNX3000 on the other hand appears to be ideal for more live scenarios, but can also record if you hook up to a computer.
I love that the GNX4 has the onboard storage cause it's convenient, and I'm typically lazy. But the board configuration seems kinda tight to get in there for live playing, whereas the 3000 is spread out nicely.
Let me know what you're findings are, I gotta make a decision today or tomorrow...going back to the Guitar Center for another couple of hours later!
Welcome to the forum. I would reccommend a GNX to anyone, and Mike's MFX Supermodels disc is a must buy too. I have the GNX 4 and I honestly couldn't live without it. Check out the MFX site and/or ask around here on the forum about the Supermodels disc.
They are extra patches you can buy for gnx units. There aren't any really good audio samples of them out there, but some people here really like them and can't wait to tell new people to run out and buy them right away.

Please make yourself at home.
