Hey guys here's a song I've been experimenting with, different effects and such. Let me know what you think good bad or ugly! :)

  • I was expecting a Beatles cover for some reason. That's a chill song. I think the voice should be louder, or more up-front. What did you use for the acoustic sound?
  • Yea I was gonna put on the title not a beatles or GnR cover  . Thanks for the comment. The acoustic sound was a patch I downloaded I believe it's called acoustic2 . I recorded my cheapo fender with an sm58 thru it. As for the vocals they were louder but I became frightened at the sound of my voice so I lowered the levels.
  • cool song 8)
    i enjoyed it
  • Very, Very well written and performed. 8)
  • Very well done, the mix was super, and it's great to find someone else on here who does vocals.
  • thanks tal, gator, and wog I appreciate the encouraging comments. Gator glad you liked the mix I always feel there's not enough presence in the vocals it always seems a bit muddy, but then again it may just be my voice. :)
  • Usually your voice sounds weird when you hear it, especially when you first start doing it. Applies to both spoken word and singing, I've noticed. I say you turn it up and see what others say, then you'll have a better idea yourself of what you sound like.
  • Very true iliace, the first time I recorded my voice I didn't even recognize it. I suppose it's a process of just becoming more comfortable with the sound of it. At least I dont cringe now when I hear it. :D

Well, when you normally hear it, it's usually through the bones, not through ears as everyone hears it. So it might actually sound very different to you vs. what it sounds like recorded.
  • Iliace, man I honestly never thought of it that way, but it does make perfect sense considering the sound does travel up the bones, your basically hearing it through the bones and the open air as well so yeah I guess it would sound different to everyone else. Perhaps this explains why the American Idol tryouts are so hilarious! :D
  • On that note, your voice is fine. You should keep refining it, and definitely keep using it!
