Hey thought I would post somthing since its been a while. not really finished with this one but I am bored with it so that must mean its done.

. I Started a basic rythm track with my old Epi G-400.

Traded that in and did the main rythm parts with a Gibson Special Faded

and traded that and finally finished it off with my new Gibson standard (I am so done trading)

...along the way I also changed my setup and switched my monitors to some new behringer 2030a's .......... :?

so this song never had a chance

the victim of too much G.A.S.

I wrote this for my wife and our upcoming tenth.
Anyway hope ya like it let me know what ya think, I am to blame for everything on this one.

I have been married 10 years this June... not 10 kids
I am done trading because finally I have a Gibson SG. Always wanted one since I was 16 and borrowed a friends (rich kid  ) never could make it happen till now. Thats because gibson charges out the @$$ for there guitars :x They really make it tough on a poor wannabe like myself to own one anyway Thanks again for the review. 8)
this has a Gary Moore \"friday on my mind\" vibe to me...that is what I get from a first listen.....nice Vox and guitar
Congrats to you and your lovely wife on your 10th anniversary, enjoy the Gibsn SG mate
Well played 8)
dead_metal_soul , Thanks for the listen. You are quite fiddler. Wish I had some of your skills
You really are a good song writer, and a pretty damn good guitar player /singer. Great job recording and playing this!
Loved the mixing job.
Great tune dude......u rock!!

This is my first time in this particular forum. Is it appropriate to ask for tech details on how you recorded and mixed this song? Live drums or machine? Any tips on acheiving the \"right sound\"?
Nice job, really!
Heck ya its appropriate
I have 2 mixes up the remix has the bass track doubled thought it sounded better on computer speakers that way.
The Pic at the top of the page is what I used to record this tune with.
Vocals - digitech Vx400 vocal processor.
Guitars- GNX3 Guitar workstation (bass -GNX Jazz bass Patch).
Drums -Boss DR-3.
Instruments - Epiphone and Gibson SGs, Behringer M-1 condencer mic.
I plug the DR-3, VX400 and GNX3 into my Mackie mixer.
I plug the mixer into my BBE Sonic maximizer. (Its like a very cool EQ but not)
I plug the BBE Sonic Maximizer into the M-box (digital recording interface)
I plug the M-box into the USB port of my Laptop.
I use ProTools for my DAW. (Digital audio workstation)
Thanks for reviewing the song I appreciate it hope this helps answer a few questions. G3456 is a professional so he should be the one you ask as I just wing it but heres some of my thoughts on it.
as far as the mix goes ...put on one of your favorite songs and listen to it through the same speakers you are going to mix your tune on .
REALLY LISTEN to the individual tracks separate the tracks in your mind. Pick them apart to tell what eqs they used to cut through the mix like you want to.
Now make your recorded tracks one at a time take on the same characteristics as the tracks you liked in the favorite song you just played. listen to it a thousand times if thats what it takes until your eqing and effects start to sound like theres. Dont forget to stop every 30 min or so and go do something else give your ears a rest then come back and listen to it again. And pretty soon before you know it it will start to take shape.
Anyway I am ramble on.
Thanks for taking the time to listen.
