Pink Floyd Comfortably Numb - (by Bababoey)

I posted a version of comfortably numb.

Let me know what you guys think this version needs. I should have added some slide guitar parts. I wish I could sing, but I know my limitations!!

  • dude as with your other stuff--you rock
that's a quality effort and I wish I had a decent set up so I could crank it
    excellant
  • very nice work m8. I have recorded this a number of times and it makes you respect Gilmour every time we try cover it.

    Nice tone, good job :D
  • Very tasty. Excellent sound. You make my C/N solo sound pretty doggy.
One thing - constructive critisicm: you've got some really sweet acoustic parts in there, especially in the first half of the song. Bring em out a bit...
  • Great playn' Bababooey...
Man you get a groovy tone out of that rig..

    See Ya,

  • Smooth 8) very very good....
I think the drums are slightly overpowering the other instruments throughout the song the only exception being the lead guitar. There is a very nice foundation in the background I'd love to hear them more than the drums.

The drum volume is good though, if you lower it, the lead will overpower the drums so I would increase the other instrument volumes and maybe lower the lead guitar volume just a hair.

Other than these minor adjustments, hats off :)

P.S which patches did you use?

David Gilmour is amazing. He gets such a wide range of sounds and his solos are structured and tasty. I love his playing

This was recorded with a backing track. I added acoustic guitar (which I agree with Shred...could be louder). It was recorded with an acoustic patch from guitar 3456 MFX supermodel patches.
The guitar during the verses was recorded with a pink floyd lead patch that I had downloaded off this site somewhere. The lead parts was recorded with a patch I customized. I believe I modified an Eric Johnson patch for this. The first lead was that patch without the stombox effect on. The second lead was with the distortion on.

WOGS , Shred and Tal, thanks for listening. Glad you guys liked it

It was fun working on this piece. I might remix the parts with your guys suggestions and repost.

    Thanks again guys

  • The tone of the lead guitar is really fat, I enjoyed listing to it. Makes me want to buy a prs. The base sounds excellent to, really good quality imho.
I'm looking forward to another of your posts 8).
  • Bababoey, Thanks for the most excellent post. Your playing technique is superb and you are a master of your craft. The last solo is just incredible, and you let us hear the what a PRS guitar can do when played by a master. I am not ashamed to say I am in awe of your talent.
