Rescue Me - Version 2
Hey fellas and ladies.
I have updated the song I posted a bit after reviewing your feedback.
http://kandamedia.com/K & A Media/Rescue Me.mp3
I raised the vocals and the bass a bit and lowered the guitars a tad. I also changed up the bridge a bit right after the solo. 8)
I am interested to find out if anyone is experiencing clipping during the vocals on the bridge. I panned the vocals back and forth to make it sound a bit more interesting.
Please let me know what you think of my mix.
Your feedback has been and is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

yes indeed it sounds better ---enjoyed the lyrics
no clipping here-sounds good
I like this song alot!!! Liked it before as well!!! I do think it sounds better now. I heard no clipping here. Very good song!!! God Bless!!!
yes I like how you took out the dist guitar and you have that slightly off sounding guitar at the bridge---the song is pretty cool
it kind of sounds like a offspring song or something
I think I've listened to it 5 times and it's really growin on me --I'll have to put it in my mp3 player list--if you're done messin with it
Good message too.
I like the remix better. I have nothing to say about the song, great work!
About the mixing, I have a few comments (I am definitely not a mixing genius myself - so I'll merely try to describe thoughts that occured while listening)
The drums are overpowered by the others and sound a bit thin, you can fatten up the drums (eq?) and increase the volume. Bass can go up a bit more as well, together with the drums. I feel that the volume of the guitar is just fine but when the vocals enter it needs to be a little muddier(neck pu??) or at a lower volume, so that it doesn't stand out too much, once or twice I thought \"I want to listen to the vocals without spending much effort but my attention was often turned towards the guitar because it dominated
OK again I am not a mixing expert but I think the reason is your voice color. It is a smooth and soft one ; during vocals, that distorted guitar's sound color interferes with your vocals in my opinion. As I said I am also curious as to how it will sound if you try volume /eq tricks on the guitar to put it in its place during vocal work : the background.
I have not noticed clipping issues by the way
Keep posting and good work
Really liked that panning vocal thing too (I think the vocal could stand out a little more still, but I dont know how to mix-EQ-aural excite for the life of me either) I cant seem to get the vocals to sound the way I want them, I downloaded Craig Andersons vocal patches, and they sound much better while recording - but I havent mixed any down yet...where it really counts
I will beef up the drums a bit probably using EQ or 'Wave Hammer' in Sound Forge.
I will bring out the bass guitar a bit more as well. I will try to tone down the guitar during the verse of the song and see if that fits a bit better.
Thanks again for all of the feedback.
