First Attempt at Singing
Hi dudes, here's a tune I'm currently working on. It has my first ever attempt at singing. Still an undeveloped idea so far but I'm working on more lyrics etc. Let me know what you think, any constructive comments will be greatly appreciated.

What did you use for drums? Great arrangement. Keep on singing.
Only in the past few years have I actually started recording my singing. I sound OK in the car when singing to a song I am working on, but when I get in the front of the mic I all of sudden go tone deaf. It's all about confidence and mood. Even w/ my choirboy voice I can add some post FX that make it sound @ least tolerable (flange, etc.).
Guitar playn' was dead on too..

Thanks for the comments dudes. Yeah I get what you mean about confidence when singing, I'm still cringing listening to my own voice. This tune is still a work in progress, but the posted one is the general idea. I used my Roland TD3KV electric drumkit for the drums. I recorded a basic chop with a fill and stuck to it. Once I have all the lyrics down I will re-do the drums and make them a bit more varied maybe.

If you could get the vocal out front more -you know
also the flange sounded good but a little much ---but then it could be my junk speakers.
good song
keep it up ty, oh and nice solo has a good FEEL to it.

good work , just bring VOX up a bit and repost mate
Alright, who is she, and what did she do to make you so sad
I have to agree with several of the responses above. On my stereo, I could barely hear the vocals. Instrumentally, it sounds great. Nice guitar tones and solo. 8)
Vocals are very difficult to hear but I think I understand why it is so. I posted a song on this forum some months ago, named \"looking glass\", which too, was my first attempt at singing and my first recording.
First I tried FXs, because I didn't like my voice and tried to hide it.
...but then I decided that every vocal is unique on its own and even though I didn't like my vocals, I decided to take out all the effects etc and keep it the way it is, with only a slight delay and slight reverb. I think clarity is much more important. It turned out that even though I am not a super star vocalist , the song didn't sound as ear cringing as I thought it would be.
I listened to your vocals very carefully (very carefully!), and I think you don't need any FX, your voice has a nice color already.
Scrap the FX's and just sing it ... use the FX's sparingly at certain places to enhance the sound maybe...you know for a few seconds at bridnge or chorus maybe it's up to you.
Nothing ear cringing about your vocals, I bet it will be a very nice work when you sing naturally.
Instead of rotary speaker, why don't you try harmonized double vocals? Just sing a few more and layer them on top of each other. That'd be very cool!
Keep up the good work!
