suggestions please
hi
i been looking at some guitars.i know you can shred on a les paul e.t.c but it is a lot easier on a jackson, ibanez.....unless your zakk wylde.lol.
I dont expect to buy a \"shred\" guitar then automatically be able to shred, i know you have to the have the technique too.
so.....
can any1 suggest a good metal/shred guitar upto £800
must have a good locking trem
a least 1 humbucker
thin neck
maple neck
maple fingerboard but not essential
doesnt have to have all of these
thanks

For a LP style guitar I like the LTD EC1000.
Jackson Dinky's are very good too.
ya ck out the Ibanez guitars --pretty cheap and they play really fast You won't be disapointed .I sold one about two years ago ( think it was 500 series or something). It costed $500 new and had thin fast neck and floyd rose . It also had 2 humbuckers and a single in the middle.
The only reason I sold it was cause It never got played since I got my jackson even though they played very simalar.
ROCK ON

i suppose ibanez gotta be good if the best shredders in the world use them,i.e steve vai,joe satriani, paul gilbert...
I Like ibanez rg guitars but theres only the rg1570 which i like which comes in left handed(yup im a lefty), i see jackson has a wider range of leftys
All I have known is Ibanez. Started with an Ibanez RG470 now I play Prestige JS1000BP which the RG did not even compare to other than Wizard II neck just awsome thinner than the JS1000 I like the smaller frets on the JS better than the RG seems to be a whole lot more precise in fretting notes. Anyhow wether you go to prestige level or not my suggestion is whatever Ibanez you go with make sure it has the Edge Pro much better bridge in my opinion than LO Pro which was on my RG. Hope you find the right guitar for you!!! I know I truly have found all the guitar I will probably ever need for my applications.
All i know is that they are very expensive here in Australia.
They stopped making the 555 6 years ago i think. Some of the main differences are the bridge (lo-trs vs edge pro). Also the vine inlay on the 555 only goes down to the 12th fret. The 7vwh has scallops on the top 4 frets, also gold hardware. The 7v is an alder body vs the 555 being basswood. I've never played a 555, but i 've also never picked up a guitar that plays as easy as a 7vwh.
If you live near a guitar shop i would check out a jem7vwh. They are nice. Also check out the rg350dx. Its also not so bad on the cheap side of things.
I really do wish that they'd extend that down to the 12th fret. If you're gonna shred you're gonna be moving horizontally, not just in the top 4 frets.
I bought the Jackson DK2 Dinky new for $500US. The \"eerie dess\" finish runs higher than other finishes...if you are looking to save. 24 fret with SSH for tone variety, and a Rose stye floating bridge. Cheap electronics, but the neck is awesome, and I love those sharkfins. I find myself practicing with this axe the most, with light gauge strings.
