Anyone seen/used one of these?

I'm thinking of using it with the Vox Tonelab. Could someone tell me what they think of the powered cab?

Also, if anyone has got an opinion on the Tonelab, or the other options, and which would be ebst for metal, that would be fantastic!!!

  • Mikalee, I have not used the Atomic reactor but I have heard many good things about it. I do use the Tonelab SE and the Digitech GNX 3 and the response to your question about which is better for metal is personal preference. Although there are advantages and disadvantages to both the GNX and the Tonelab I can tell you know matter what I did to the digitech (tube pre-amp, supermodels) I can not get close to the Tonelab in terms of pure tone and sound that punches through. Some say the Tonelab is not 'metal' enough and there is much discussion of this at http://www.tonelab.net/. Personally I think that the Tonelab produces enough crunch for any type of music. If I could morph the features of both then I would have one butt kicking pedal. LD
  • Hey,

I went and tried the reactor 112 w/my gnx4 at my local music store last spring. Sounds good? Yes. The main reason that I didn't buy it, is that I had also tried $200.00 keyboard amps that sounded just as good with the gnx4, and I didn't like was that there are NO controls on the amp, NONE, not even a master volume on the thing.

Anyway, I ended up with 2031a's because 95% of what I do is in my basement studio anyway, and I'm currently not playing live.
BTW, the local music store still hasn't sold even one. HTH

    Peace,
    Dobb.
