Blackmore / Turner Reunion (of sorts)
I have mentioned before that Ritchie Blackmore is a huge reason why I played guitar in the first place. I was a big Deep Purple fan, and definitely a larger Rainbow fan.
My friend over in Japan called me to inform me that Ritchie Blackmore's new album simply kicks a$$.
I explained to him that I kind of lost interest in his new music.
His response was \"dude, you HAVE to have this one. I bought you a copy, and it's on it's way.\" He then put the phone to his speakers, and put on a track. I got chills. It was a new redition of \"Street of Dreams\" with Joe Lynn Turner and Candice Night singing. As much as I would have loved to hear only JLT singing, Candice definitely helped. It was an incredible version!!! Along with \"SoD\", he played me a version of \"Child in Time\" that started off way different, but the old favorite came through with a punch. If he hadn't already shipped it, I would have told him to FEDEX it. I can't wait to have it in my hands!!!!
After hanging up the phone, I couldn't help my mind from wondering if the Ritchie longed for the the Rainbow days like the rest of his fans do. Maybe the Joe Lynn Turner thing can spawn into a new Rainbow album, or at least a reunion tour.
One can only hope.

Of course most Rainbow fans would love to see RJD, but at this point, I'll take what I can get.

I never heard of Dawk before. I have to add it to my \"wishlist\"
