  • Which card do you have exactly?

    There are way to many soundblasters to know which one you have...
  • soundblaster audigy2 value card.i got it bebause it said it had spdif in and the gnx3 has spdif out. it not the best on the marget but when it said it had spdif i thought great.
  • Here is the info on your card. It's a little confusing because it says it has SPDIF In, but no interface for it. I had the Audigy Platinum which is probably the Value with a front bay that did have the SPDIF In.

    Sound Blaster® Audigy® 2 Value On-Board Connectors

    * Line level out (Front / Side / Rear / Center /Subwoofer)
    * Microphone in
    * Line in
    * Digital I/O (for stereo SPDIF output to Digital I/O Module**)
    * Telephone Answering Device in
    * Aux In

  • so i do have to buy the module.or sould i just get a better card so to speak i live in ont.and getting this stuff can be a bit of a pain.i don,t have a front bay on my pc.
  • I have the same problem. I have the Audigy 2 Platinum ( with the front bay). I set the Gnx to digital out. I've made sure the bit rates were the same ( 44.1). Made sure the SPDIF settings on the controll panel were on and levels were up. Nothing. I think I'm missing something simple - a setting or something - others on this forum use the same card & it works great.
    I'll try again.

  • i went to sound blaster site and alot of people are mad becouse u have to buy the i/o module and at the time of buying they didn,t now.at 15.00 usa it not bad but i think maybe upgading the card would have been better they sugest the uudigy 4 pro,but i,m om a liminit income so spenting alot of money on something like this is out of the qustion.
  • If you're getting a new card, get the Soundblaster X-Fi. It's a very noticable difference.
  • Why does my Audigy 2 only have sample rates of 48KHZ & 96KHZ?
    Anyone else have this problem?
  • It is true, but what problem are you talking about?
  • Pretty inexpensive though. I have a mic preamp, for which you have to get an ADC card - it's inching up on $250 extra for an already ~$600 unit.

    I looked in the user guide for the Audigy Value, and it seems to indicate that the package content includes the digital i/o module. Is that not the case?
  • You may have to create a custom cable, The card should have a header on it marked SPDIF.

    If you have a spare \"digital\" cable for a DVD-ROM or CD_rom you can butcher this to make a female RCA on one end and the butchered connector on the other...
  • sound card gone,got him to take it out and getting the edirol ua 25 in a week or so.still have the 5.1 speakers ,now for that hook up.lolthanks for all the help.i did find out that the sound blaster udgy 2 value is going to be discontinued .and some time the spdif works and some times not.so maybe the cartd was defictive.
  • ...i did find out that the sound blaster udgy 2 value is going to be discontinued .and some time the spdif works and some times not.so maybe the cartd was defictive.

    That is inacurate. I, along with a few friends, have/had the Audigy 2 Platinum (which is the value with a front bay), and not one of us EVER had a problem. The problem was that you simply did not have a place for the spdif input in the back of your card. The connection was actually on the card, but internal.
  • i,m only saying what the computer guy told me.his did have some proplems with that brand of sound baster card.any way thanks for all your help.how do u set up the edirol ua 25?
  • I got mine working. I knew it was something simple. I couldn't find the SPDIF Slider on the mixer. Under Aux2 there's a small arrow which will pull down more inputs and there it was - muted. Then it stoped raining and the sun came out the birds started singing. :D
