Samba Pa Ti (by Bababoey)
<div style="displaynone">fiogf49gjkf0d</div>I have been on a Santana kick lately (Although I have always been a huge fan of his). I might want to redo this one more time. (If the wife doesn't kill me for playing too much!). Let me know what you guys think

Man,
You nailed that whole Santana sound. 8)
Wonderful playing and mix... 8)
It seems to speak to me of some inner peace in the beginning, turmoil and mental tensions in the middle leading to a resolution in the end.
Seems to paraphrase the phases of a love affair to me
or maybe life itself ( The phases from being a blisfull baby to the turbulent teens on to middle life mental peace and on to Senile Serenity.)
Your tone is very close indeed !! Your playing is very very good. All in all its very close to the great man himself ! This could as well have been a forgotten recording or practice jam session of Carlos D Santana
Hats off to you !!
PS : Do you have the tabs for Samba Pa Ti, I would love to try and learn it myself though I feel I am about 5 years away from playing that good.
Web surf, I like his older stuff as well. Samba Pa Ti is one of my favorite songs of his, as well as Europa. I posted a version of that as well on the forum. Take a listen if you like. I do also like his newer stuff. Yeah it is more commercialized, but some of the artists he plays with creates some interesting music. On his new album , All That I am, he does a song with Mary J Blige. She has such a great voice, and with his guitarwork in the background sounds great.
Unfortunately, I do not have any of the tabs for Samba Pa Ti. I learned it by listening to it.
Thanks guys!

I see it like this: WOW! A totally righteous cover of this awesome Santana tune (I am a fan of his earlier work). However, bababoey also found a place for his own influences in the piece without taking away from the first aspect (the awesome, and accurate cover of the tune).
So, more than a Santana cover, we have a bababoey Santana cover. It is rare when a piece of music demonstrates two distinctive signatures... don't you think?
Good work bababoey! You guys all make my day!
