Using a bass with GNX4

On of the things that attracted me to the GNX4 was the thought of using it at home to practice the bass (using the drum machine, etc) as well as guitar (practice and gigs) ... using a bass with active pickups and trying both the normal guitar input and the line in (using Bass POD) have been less than excited about the light and lifeless sound I hear in the head phones. When I start to up the levels it seems to od before gets much better.

Does anyone have any thoughts/experience in hooking up the lowend??

    My brother has a bass with active pickups that is really hot. This one does not work too well in any of my modelers - primarily GNXs and POD. It's OK to lay down a bass line, but I'd sooner use a bass sim on a GNX than bother setting levels and deal with the clipping that occurs. However, if he plugs it into his BP200 and lines in to GNX3000, it sounds great.

    My bass player has a bass with active pickups, but it's not nearly as hot as my brother's. This one works well enough with GNX3/4 (haven't tried with 3000), but again better going into BNX3 lined into GNX4/3000.
