It's funny: the \"Energize\" function used to be SS on older Zoom processors.

Odd, the efx loop is assigned to patches. Not global??? They have a sample when you go to the products page. Someone told me that was done with the 9.2 Those are supposed to be shipping by end of Feb. They also have a side note that XLR preamp/connector was omitted.

The most attractive feature I see so far (this probably says something about me):

A new 3D Z-pedal takes performance to the next level by allowing conventional up/down and sideways pedal movement. Assign up to four parameters in each axis of pedal movement for complex sound control patterns.

Now that's cool. And four parameters, too!

The software editor is shown, but not included, not posted as avail from the site. A guy I know that works Samson (Zoom) says it should be posted after their release date for download. I also heard TC is looking at the floor processor markets..something lower than the G Major, but with an amp modeler addition. Next year sometime.

One of the gurus over at bossgtcentral just posted a note (deep in one thread) that he has been using the new G7 unit. He is pretty ecstatic about the basic amp modeling tones. He's a pro and uses MFXs very regularly in live gigs so his comments have intrigued me.

I guess we'll wait for the G9 to roll out and wow the masses. I'm pretty skeptical right now... but then again - that means GAS is building!

Competition is always healthy, look what AMD did for the masses! Even if you don’t use an AMD processor, you’re still reaping the rewards. 8)

I am impressed with the overall design and what looks like sturdy construction of the new Zoom G9 pedal. Yes, healthy competition for the consumer is always a good thing. It looks like Zoom really put together
a great pedal especially with the tube energizer which apparently you will see the tube \"glow\" brighter as you turn the energize knob increasing tube saturation. I think this will prove that many guitarist prefer good tone rather than an abundance of \"bells and whistles\"-- that is if this pedal sounds as good as it looks.

Do any of those have balanced line outs? Didn't seem that way from the description, and I haven't found a manual yet.

Yeah, I just got my SamAsh catalog yesterday. That new expression pedal looks very cool. You could really do some great stuff with that.

I had a G2 twice and wasn't impressed. In fact, I bought a PFX-9003 shortly after I sold my second G2 and think that sounds tons better (it's a small walkman style unit). If you need a portable practice unit, check it out......hmmm, wonder if Digitech has considered making something like that?

Looking at the specs, it looks like the USB bit depth spec is maxed at 16 bit/48K.... I know they made a fuss about the 32-bit signal processing path etc etc.. I wonder why they didn't push up the PC record interface to at least 24bit like their A/D converters. To my ears, my 24 bit recordings sound far better than my 16 bit.. Unless I'm just trying to convince myself that they do...
