Genesis 3 controller and midi ?

Hello again. Im pulling my hair out trying to get my GT 5 to send control change messages to my Genesis 3. Looks like this isn't possible. I made an assumption and well, I was wrong. Outside of the ControlX thing, is there any small controller out there that can be used to access the CC parameters in this G3? I just want a few parameters to be available such as amp channel, or warp. So far the only thing I can do is to assign the external expression controller to one CC change and that would be set all the time no matter what regardless of the preset. A stand alone expression pedal with assignable midi channel and cc # would be great!
I cant find such a thing. Anyone here know of something?

  • Okay does anyone know what the CC # for the Genesis 3 expression pedal is? On the GNX 4 its CC #4. Nothing is listed in the manual and I gotta wait til Monday to bother the tech guys at Digitech. I think they're getting sick of me calling them with the most rediculous questions. :D

  • I don't know if this will help or not Genesis 3 midi codes (text file of GEN 3 midi cc#s)

I got that from the FCB 1010 Yahoo Group in case the above link doesn't work right. You have to register to view the files in that group BTW.

I'm pretty sure the FCB 1010 would work for you, but it ain't exactly small

  • Thank you ANR. The chart is in the manual, but the link you gave me shows more targets. The one I need is there, unfortunately it's #103 and my units can only go as high as #95! Its #4 on the GNX 4, you know the one with an expression pedal! Rocktron has a couple of units that would do the job but by the time I get all that hooked up I could just go and get a GNX 1,2 and say screw it. Thanks again. You did answer my question.

  • Is there a way to change the CC# in the G3? I'm going too far now aint I?
