Old Highway 27 (by Tal)

There's a stretch of highway that the old place in Mississippi is right next to. It's called Highway 27. I kind of wrote this tune with this old road in mind.. The old place sits on Highway 27 right between Georgetown and Monticello Mississippi..

Now that's country and that is what this tune is..

Tried to give it a Chet Atkins feel as well as Roy Nichols. (Merle Haggards lead Man and one of my favorite guitarists)

Tune is 2 megs in size and a little over 2 minutes in length..

So if you aint doing nothing else, pop you a cool one, kick your shoes off and take a listen to Old Highway 27..

8) koooty-Hoo! thats some mighty fine pickin there Mr. Tal. I think I would have a nice Long Island Iced tea with that one on my big screened in front porch! that is if I was livin in Ole Miss.

Very visual. Never been to that road, but if there's any room left on that porch i wouldn't mind hanging out for awhile.

I agree with everyone else, of course we need to have a bar-b-que grill going too. I hope the old porch is big enough, with a big ol' rockin chair and a friendly, lazy dog on the step. :roll:

Plenty of room on that old porch in Rockport Mississippi.
Right on old highway 27 halfway between Georgetown and Monticello. About 12 miles each way to either town..

Rockport: Population 7

There is a pretty big town about 3 miles from Rockport..

Omah Mississippi. Population 30

So just come on down and kick your shoes off. I'll have the Bar-B-Que going and plenty of liquid refreshments... 8)

And don't worry about that old hound dog.. He don't bite...

Don't forget to bring your axes... 8)
