\"Walk the Line\"

Well I forked out the four bucks for a Sunday matinee to see the Johnny Cash movie \"Walk the Line\"....

A Johnny Cash fan, like myself, will probably like this movie. My twelve year old daughter nodded out a few times.

Juaquine Pheonix, seemed to become Johnny Cash, he does his own singing and sounds enough like Cash to be believable. Coodoo's to Reece Witherspoon for her singing and portrayal of June Carter too.

Really enjoyed the \"early starting out section\" , Jerry Lee, Elvis and such.

Would have liked a bigger song selection. The final rendition of Cocain Blues was right on.

Go see the movie.

  • sounds good - my dad's hero and so i have inherited his admiration.
  • Hey MikeB and Archon,

I saw it and was blown away...Of course the venue I was watching it at was one of the dinner and drink movie houses. I was about on my 5th, or was it my 6th, double martini when the last tune came on \"Cocaine Blues\".

The whole theatre got up and sang along and then gave a standing ovation!! Wonder if it was the alcohol?? 8)

Me and my wife enjoyed it thouroghly. But of course both of us are huge Johnny Cash, June Carter fans.. 8)

  • Haven't seen it yet, but looking forward to it. From the trailers they did seem to do a pretty good job of re-creating their sound. Witherthspoon sang pretty true but the speaking parts seemed a bit overexaggerated. I don't remember June speaking quite that \"thick\" on the Folsum Prison recordings.
for a \"rock and roll\" movie it looks like one of the better ones
