I was going to try to get some chores done around the house this weekend, but this happened instead.

A slightly different twist on one of my favorite solos as we did it in a former band. I know I promised something original, but... I lied. Just love those covers!

    Man, I love that stuff... I'm a Texan, but was born in Mississippi.. Huge Bill Monroe fan.. Grand Ole Opry... The whole nine yards... Was that little Bill on the Mandolin... :lol: and was that Earl on the Banjo??? :lol: Those guys play their Purple Elephants off...

    There out of L.A. and Stephen Lockhart is a real hoot... Hell of a guitarist and they play some righteous Blue grass as well. Always try to look up Stephen when I'm out in L.A... Lot's of stories there... :lol:

    Bottom Line:

    Loved China, but I could listen to good old timey blue grass all day long 8)

    Thanks for listening to the bluegrass stuff. Granite Grass was the most fun / satisfying band I've ever been in. We had a good run of about 12 yrs. My dad's from TX so I think that's where I get it from. Still have about 1/3 of a box of CDs left from the original press if you want one... :)

    PS - Checked out Desert Sage Band... good stuff!! I love bands that \"bluegrass-ize\" contemporary songs.

    I can assure you the pleasure was all mine.. Really enjoyed it, and you kick Purple Elephant with it...Maybe you can post some more sometime done on the GNX4??

    Love to hear you rip it up on Rocky Top or Foggy Mountain Breakdown, or maybe even Rollin in my sweet baby's arms.. Would also be interesting to see how well the GNX4 pulls off this gendre of music..

    Of course I want a cd and am sending you a private message regarding that..

    Thanks, glider! This was programmed with the GM drum map in PTP and played thru the GNX's rock drum kit. I think I started with the 8th beat 1 or Rock 4 pattern then just embellished. I've built a number of straight and shuffle-beat songs now, so cut-n-pasting a song together is getting a bit easier. (Although if anyone A/B's two of my songs, they're gonna find I probably used the same session drummer :) )
