Granitehead's SOTW

Very nicely done. Nice tone. Is that your own preset you used for the tone?

  • Where is that bong? OOPS I thought it was 1970 something, I don't do that any longer. Rock on Granitehead.
  • Move over Rover and let Granitehead take over...
    Nice...
My favorite Deep Purple tune is \"Hush\" but this is also a favorite...

    One more thing GH...
Since you got to do your favorite tune Do I have your permission to do Coltranes \"Favorite Things\"... That and Brubeck's \"Take Five\" are the two tunes that really got me into jazz....

    See Ya,

It takes balls to post a song like that on a guitar forum. That is kinda of like going to a music store, grabbing a guitar off the wall and playing Stairway to Heaven. But I have to say you did a great job! I liked it!
That song brings back lots of memories.

Did you make your own drum tracks for it??

P.S. I once was playing guitar when my 8 yr old daughter's friend was over. I asked him if he wanted to hear a song I wrote. I started to play Stairway to Heaven. He says,\"hey, that's Stairway to Heaven!\".....his eyes got really big shock ..and then he says... \"WOW!! You wrote that!!!\"
I laughed my (_|_) off. I was shocked he even knew the song.
  • You know, I wouldn't have posted it if this wasn't such a great forum with such terrific folks. Back in my banjo days, Pete Wernick once told me \"Never be afraid to play a great song, just do it justice\" Hope I did... at least in this version:

Yeah, I did the drums. Buried in there is 8th beat 1 in a few spots. Tone is based on a series of anon. patches titled rocklead 1-3 and rockrthm 1-6 all posted 10/7/2004. They're all pretty similar (and great!). Tweaked the effects, not the amp and cabs much.
Tal, you my friend can and should play anything you darn well want.

    Thanks for listening, guys.
