Shameless selfpromo...

Yup, got me one of em Soundclickers I recon...

Two of the songs previously released on GenX CDs. One brand spanking new with Bernie on leads. Check it out, the dude shreds like #### ;)

Using the GNX on \"Flying In Obscurity\" (solo project) and \"I am Reason\" (Bernie doing all the leads). The latest tune \"Tamano Nightfall\" has a small part played thru the GNX, but most of the lead (Bernie) is using a V-Amp...

  • Tamano Nightfall is such a nice piece Thomas. The arrangements are well put together and pace nicely. Add Monsieur Dulieu's fabulous guitar, and you come out of it exhilirated. The mando-like guitar near the end gave me chills Bernie. Very tasty, uplifting song. Keep em coming. :P :P :P
  • Great textures and tones!! I am really diggin bernies style and out of the box sound and aproach. Very refreshing sound and total unique guitarmenship. Might be over some peoples head and difinetly out of there imagination!! If I could play like that!!!!!! Wow that would be great!!
  • I am Reason is a really \"chill\" groove. The lead guitar really stands out nicely, too. Definitely sounds like you put a lot of thought into these songs.
  • Well done Thomas. Excellent compositions and recordings!
  • Well done Thomas. Excellent compositions and recordings!
  • Thanks for listening guys :) Bernie has one unique talent and he is extremely interesting to work with. Damn, I wish I had a fraction of Bernie's chops and talent!!! The interesting thing about these projects we have done together is how Bernie finds that melodic nerve that the song needs for the extra lift. Always lots of fun :) We may have one coming down the pipe in not too long where we're splitting the guitar work 50-50. But first I have to do a song with my wife!!! I sense a storm brewing - LOL...

    Peace and thanks again,

    Thomas
  • :D Excellent work! each tune very dynamic and melodic. nice chops too.
  • Thanks ODB :)

Bernie is extremely talented and it confuses the hell outta me that he is not yet signed!!! His style is definitely unique, which is hard to find these days IMO... Not only an extremely talented guitarplayer, but also a brilliant composer and he has an extremely good ear for details...

I really wanted to strip out more of the synth on \"Tamano\", but he insited on keeping them as that was what he built much of his guitars around...

Hey Martin, the mando sounding parts blew me away too man... I just referred to it as the machinegun. You should listen to them standalone!!! It is INSANE!!!

I really appreciate you all taking the time to listen to this :)

    Thanks,

Thomas (honored to be in such great company)
  • I'm really glad you now have your own page. I have yet to hear the new song. Gotta go... but i'll be back.
  • Hi Thomas......love the new song.......but I agree with Bernie, the snyth adds a lot to that song, wouldn't be the same without it :)

  • Hey Bill, my fellow North Carolinian :)

Thanks for listening dude. LOL - tell you what, when you have 60-70 tracks to mix, you REALLY REALLY want to start taking stuff out of the equation - :? But I am glad I listened to Bernie. See, this song has been sort of an on and off project for me for a while before I sent a little sample to Mr B. Him sending back an mp3 with his playing was such a breath of fresh air and liftet the song big time. So I was sort of stuck in a dilemma... The guitars sounded great alone, so I tried taking out the \"lead synth\" on the first chorus to emphasize Bernies excellent guitar work. Little did I know that he built that lead around the synth... I suppose that is what happens when you sort of get fatigued from working to long on a project. So I am really happy Bernie insisted on having the synth there cause I can hear what he was talking about now. If you do collabs with B, you know that the man has an incredible ear and attention to details. I might have been physically doing the mixing, but realistically, Bernie did half of it providing continuous feedback :) He is such a great person!!!

Btw, if you're into fishing, see if you can take a trip out to the OBX. I went a week and a half ago. Caught 10 Red Drums, 8 of them during 1.5 hr before the morning tide out at Cape Hatteras. The striped bass are coming in about now, so if you are into it, take a trip to OBX and fish the Oregon Inlet sometime the next couple of weeks :)

    Cheers,

    Thomas
  • 60-70 tracks? wow, most I ever had on one song was about 18 I think........that would be interesting LOL.......it is a really good song though....

Haven't ever been fishing at the OBX, but I've been there.....always wanted to go when the Blues are running.......I've had friends say there were out in the surf fishing when they were running and the Blues were actually swimming BEHIND them LOL......right up to the shore.......and hey, there's nothing like a fresh Bluefish sandwich LOL....had one on Ocracoke and there was enough fish hanging off the bun to make two more sandwiches LOL......but I'm still partial to the Sanitary Fish Market and Restaurant at Morehead City :).......

Are you still planning on going back to Norway? and if so, when?

  • Hola Bill,

We did catch quite a few blues, but they were only in the 1-1.5lb range. One of the blues I caught was missing half its belly from some sort of a bite. It had no skin or scales covering it up. It was just plain weird!!! But it was alive and well and had recovered for that old bite I suppose. Probably from a shark or another blue... You know Blue Fish are not afraid to die, the are afraid they won't live another day to kill - LOL...

The larger blues should be coming in about now along with the striped bass. They had caught a few stripers when we were there, but it was still early in the season to actually fish for it (but we tried anyway with not much luck).

Yep, the plan is still to move back home. Exact date has not yet been set, but it will be sometime next summer or right after my oldest one is done with the school year. Got a hell of a lot of stuff to do first though - get the house prepped and ready for sale, arrange with moving all our stuff overseas (with the new ISPS code for shipping that may be a pain in the a##), sell cars, and the list goes on and on - lol... Oh, and last minute gear shopping. Have to stock up some gear before we get there as gear cost a crapload more over there!!! ;)

    Cheers,

    Thomas
