GNX3K Range Dynamics clip FWIW

For the sake of fun...

Borrowing the same riff theme from a recent GT8 demo created by Armin (very accomplished d00d), I decided I'd dial up a GNX3K patch and make a similar demo for comparison. I don't have a link to his clip at the moment I'll have to find it.

This is straight from the MFX using a WARPed amp/cabinet recipe based on the '77 Marshall Master Volume with no post EQ - only a Normalize was applied.

The variations are done with a Jackson DXMGT Dinky (EMG HZ pups), bridge position. I only varied the volume pot (the cleaner beginning is at about half volume on the guitar so it's not as bright but is still usable). This is more of a classic rock tone. I think this clip demonstrates the range you can get from a single preamp patch in the GNX3K. This is all basically one take with only a few splices where I just fat fingered something (/blush). There is a very subtle chorus and reverb... and I used the SparkleDrive stomp model on the whole thing. The very end I tapped on the Analog PingPong delay to thicken things up a bit.

I like the complexity in the breakup very much on this tone (some may not - that's fine). Through my KX1200s, the sound is HUGE, very tight, and will cut through without even trying... I'm not sure how it will sound through your PC speakers. Hopefully decent enough. You could dial in more low end - but if you have a bassist, this would sit very well in the mix.

FWIW, the response and \"connected feel\" is really apparent when you play through this thing. I can't get this kind of tone from my GT8 (the sonic character is different).

But it's worth an attempt anyway. 8)
